Real Wedding | Kate & Tom

Tell us a little about yourselves!

Tom is from York, UK and Kate is from Toronto, Canada but we live in London, UK. We met at work but only began dating six weeks before the pandemic when the UK went into lockdown - but luckily it worked out.

Why did you decide to get married where you did?

Kate has been travelling to Fattoria Casamora for many years with her family so it held special meaning. She was excited to bring Tom here for the first time and share it with him. We both knew that this was the right place for the kind of wedding we wanted and it had the added benefit of meaning we didn’t have to choose between London or Toronto.

We have shared so many special times at Casamora over amazing Italian food and wine. We wanted to recreate that at our wedding and share those times with our friends and family. Being able to do away with some traditional wedding elements also meant that it felt very personal to us.

How many guests did you have?

We had 60 guests.

Tell us about your outfits.

Tom wore a custom suit from London-based Italian tailor, 40 Colori. Kate wore a Prea James dress, the Juliette Slip, which she found at The Fall Bride in London.

What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning  your wedding?

Over the years, we have spent so many special nights with family and friends in Italy, enjoying the food, wine, scenery and incredible culture. We really wanted our wedding to be one of those nights so it was really important that everyone felt relaxed and like they could have fun.

Creating opportunities to connect with each of our guests was also a top priority for us so we extended the celebrations into a weekend-long affair. We kicked off with a relaxed BBQ, allowing everyone to meet and mingle. The following day was the wedding day. And then a pool and pizza party was the perfect way to enjoy our last day all together.

Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?

Food, wine and photography were all very important to us! We are big foodies and love wine which was one of the reasons we wanted to have our wedding in Italy in the first place. Our caterers Delizia Ricevimenti were incredible and delivered Italian BBQ, a wedding feast with multiple pasta courses, traditional wedding cake, pizza and gelato.

And of course, we wanted photos we loved to remember everything by. Our photographers, Urška &  Domen delivered this in spades.

Any tips for couples getting married?

Plan thoroughly and then make sure someone else is in charge so that you can stay present on the day and enjoy it!

Are there any vendors that you would like to tell us a little more about?

We would highly recommend our photographers, Urška &  Domen, who were fantastic from start to finish. They were incredibly responsive, always quick to answer our questions and full of ideas about how to make the day and the location look its best. Most importantly, they made us feel so comfortable and relaxed throughout the entire day, which allowed us to fully enjoy every moment without worrying about the camera. They captured every moment of our wedding and we are so grateful to have such stunning photos to look back on.
