Real Wedding | Elin + Daniel

Elin, who is Swedish, moved to London where Daniel lived after a year of long-distance dating. The couple met at a beach party in Mexico with their first six dates being in six different countries! "With a love for London our weekends consisted of ham & cheese croissant and coffee take-aways from the little bakery Hart & Lova which we enjoyed in bed in our West Hampstead flat. Slow walks through Regents Park followed by more coffee and shopping at the Conrad Shop and Daunts Books in Marylebone before ending the evening by trying out some of the new restaurants on our list."

The love for the pretty but unpretentious neighbourhood of Marylebone made this an obvious choice for Elin and Daniel when choosing our wedding location. "It feels like home and reminds us of our first year together in London. Walking around Marylebone with Ruth after our civil ceremony was such a lovely thing and capturing all our favourite spots made the photos even more special! The fact that The The Old Marylebone Town Hall also is newly renovated with a gorgeous but simple interior of woods and marbles also helped make the decision an easy one for us. We only had parents from both sides attending our Civil Ceremony and our Photographer Ruth Atkinson of course!" The couple had dinner at local French Restaurant and Wine Bar Red Room at Clarette London after their civil wedding. A week later Elin and Daniel hired a Country Estate where 70 of closest friends and family joined them to celebrate over the weekend.

It was important to Elin and Daniel to find suppliers and styling that captured and embraced the theme of a relaxed, fun, stylish and personal day. "It was super important to us that our wedding reflected our simple Swedish style without being pretentious or boring. I really feel that both guests and suppliers helped to create that magic feeling!"

Elin and Daniel threw out all expectations and preconceived ideas of what a wedding should be and sat down to discuss what they wanted from their wedding. The themes and ideas that came out of this was then the starting point and guide throughout their wedding planning journey.

Their advice to other couples getting married? "Do you! Keep it simple and focus on a few things that will help create the feeling and atmosphere that you want for your day. And consider staying away from traditional wedding related shops and brands! Often more stylish and unique wedding inspiration (and less expensive!) can be found by following boutique fashion and interior brands (Hence why I loved following The Anti-Bride!) How is it that a “wedding dress” is always more expensive than a gorgeous dress from a high-end fashion brand?"
