Maxim and Anastasia met by chance at a private party, which Anastasia attended with her friend. In the crowd she saw Maxim and instantly was drawn to him. "It was so noisy so I suggested that we leave the party. Maxim said he needed 20 minutes to settle things, and then we left. Later I found out that the party was his birthday party! I never expected him to leave his own party. A week later he asked me on our first date. Max proposed six years later." While Max was on holidays at his bachelor party in Ibiza, he agreed to purchase a dog. After that, the couple began living with their dog Dylan (who was very much a part of their wedding.) Anastasia works as a dentist and enjoys being active. The couple also love watching TV shows on their couch, spending time with our friends or playing sports.
Anastasia and Maxim's wedding took place in St. Petersburg, Russia, in a town called Pushkin. The couple held their reception at Romanoff’s Restaurant at the Tsar Palace Luxury Hotel & Spa. "We chose that venue because it was brand new and elegant." The couple also loved the fact that they could accomodate their friends and family - at total of 70 guests - at the hotel. The couple had photographer Kseniya Antonova capture their day.
When it came to a dress, Anastasia wanted something that was lightweight, airy, not restrained - so that she could dance and feel comfortable. "I don’t like the classic strict image of brides, so I chose the Russian designer Murashka."
Because the bride loves black, she chose black shoes, a black robe for the morning and manicure in the same colour. And of course her bouquet also was black orchids from Asya Bloom. "I wanted my hair to be a little tussled and for my makeup to be minimal - and my makeup artist Anna Vereta and hair stylist Daria Neyman met the brief perfectly. The outfit was simpler for Maxim, who wore a Cacharel tuxedo. "There is nothing better for a man than a tuxedo and a bow tie."
Anastasia never had any specific ideas of what her wedding should be, however always knew what it should not be. "It's difficult to single out only one important thing. But it was very important for us that the wedding was not too official, that it was relaxed from the morning, that we enjoyed each others company, our guests and our day. In the morning we walked around the hotel in our bathrobes with champagne and our dog. Then our friends began to arrive, adding fun to our wedding's morning. We wanted to create a celebratory atmosphere for our relatives and all of our friends, and of course for ourselves." The couple couldn't imagine celebrating without their friends and their whippet Dylan.
"The best thing about our wedding preparation, was that there was no need to do anything - because everything could be entrusted to our wedding planner Don’t panic bride. We only choose from the proposed options and ideas, which made the whole process far more straight forward. We are very grateful to our team of vendors for their involvement and participation in our day."
"My advice to couples getting married? Hire a professional wedding planner, don't worry about the little things and live the day to the fullest! Your wedding day will go by lightning-fast, so communicate more with your loved ones, dance, relax, drink wine, enjoy and do not think about things like the weather (it rains often in St. Petersburg)."
"It was emotionally challenging to prepare for our wedding during the pandemic, because we never knew if restaurants would open, whether our guests would be able to come (many of them were from other countries and unfortunately some could not come), if the wedding would take place or we would have to postpone it. All of this was incredibly stressful. However, thankfully we were able to go ahead on our original wedding date and celebrate with loved ones, despite all these uncertainties. "
