Real Wedding | Alisa + Tobias

Why did you decide to get married where you did?

Alisa saw the venue Alte Gaertnerei online several years ago and fell in love! When planning the wedding it was the first and only location we visited as a couple. We were instantly taken by the beauty and atmosphere of it!

How many guests did you have?

We had 72 guests.

Tell us about your outfits.

We wanted something classic, yet not too conservative.

Tobias always imagined himself getting married in a tuxedo. It took us seven visits to the tailor to get the Boggi Milano suit absolutely perfectly fitted.

Alisa wanted a sustainable dress, that wasn't too much or too bridal. Boutiques were closed due to the pandemic, so I ordered different dresses from online stores to try and see what I liked. I fell in love with my gown from Emilia Wickstead and had to wait for a month, until it was available again at Net-a-Porter!

What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?

That everyone was having a great time! After the pandemic, we wanted everyone to be able to enjoy great food and to party hard! This is also why we hired a wedding MC to navigate through the evening and decided to exclude children under five from our guest list.

Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?

The most important elements were including our family - such as the father and daughter dance, speeches, cultural traditions as well as plenty of dancing!

Any tips for couples getting married, particularly during the pandemic?

Start planning early - even earlier than a year before your wedding. Do not listen to anyone about what they think should be right for your wedding. And lastly, start the ceremony early - the day goes far too quickly!

Are there any vendors that you would like to tell us a little more about?

Our photographer Dani Rodriguez from Bring Me Somewhere Nice was incredible. He was very easy going with a keen eye for detail. The staff from our venue Alte Gaertnerei were also highly professional. They did all the floral styling themselves and provided a list of Dj's and caterers - so you already start with a great team of vendors who are experienced and know what they are doing, including our DJ Marcel Schneider, caterer Yannick Brangeon and cake by Urban Cake Design! Alisa's make-up artist Katu Petrova used to work with actors and celebrities, so she can transform any under-eye circle into sophisticated, Kate Moss chic!
