Tell us a little about yourselves!
We met in middle school, reconnected in college and started officially dating in 2011. We spent 2.5 years in a long - distance relationship during with lots of traveling between San Jose and Las Vegas. We got engaged in Feb 2019 in Napa. We were planning for a 2020 wedding, but pivoted to a small, intimate wedding in 2021. We then had wedding FOMO and decided to celebrate with family and friends!
Why did you decide to get married where you did?
We took a mini-moon to Valle de Guadalupe, Mexico in 2021 and was instantly wowed by the area. We went from wine tastings to venue tours during the weekend and spontaneously booked Casa Marieta that weekend!
How many guests did you have?
120 and Dias de Vino y Rosas captured our day.
What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?
The three most important elements were our loved ones, catering and guest experience. Because our event was a destination wedding, we wanted our guests to have a great experience from getting to/from, enjoying Valle de Guadalupe and lastly drinking and eating good throughout the weekend.
Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?
We wanted to highlight all the best parts of a fun party - good food and drinks, awesome music and good vibes. Also wanted to share traditional Mexican and Filipino touches throughout the event.
Any tips for couples getting married?
Trust your team! Give all partners and vendors runway to be creative and be experts in their field. It’s less stressful not having to worry about every single detail and this also allows for moments to be surprised and wow-ed
Are there any vendors that you would like to tell us a little more about?
Our wedding weekend wouldn’t have been possible without Lea Stafford Events team! We loved working (didn’t feel like work) with them during the whole process, looked forward to our regular meetings and enjoyed every opportunity to see each other in person! They provided everything we wanted, and amazingly everything we didn’t know we wanted!
