Italian documentary wedding photographers Carlotta and Gianluigi from We.Wedding Photography are fascinated by human connection and love to capture moments and feelings that words can’t express. Having worked all over Italy as well as Spain, Greece, and Switzerland, We.Wedding Photography capture destination weddings throughout Europe.

Tell us about We.Wedding Photography!

We. Wedding Photography is a project born in 2015 by Carlotta and Gianluigi. We are a couple and both studied photography in Milan at that time. A friend asked us to photograph his wedding, and we had enjoyed it so much that we decided to invest in this project and grow it until today.

We also worked in other areas such as commercial, architectural, interior photography and events. This helps us to keep a fresh outlook and to bring our skills into the wedding field as well, which is now our main and only business.

What would you like couples to know about you?

We try to put the same care and attention into this work that we put in our life as a couple. Having two photographers on your wedding day who fully understand each other's thoughts is something we would want too, if we were you.

Where are you based?

Novara, a small and quiet city just out of the metropolitan area of Milan, Italy.

Do you travel for weddings?

Yes! Travel is a huge part of our work and we love it. We keep discovering new beautiful places and venues all over Italy. Every season we also have the chance to work abroad in Greece, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland and more.

How would you describe your style?

Documentary, aimed at reporting moments as they happen without too much forcing. We shoot both in digital and analog, which is forcing us to think more before shooting and which has also influenced our digital work . We are fortunate to have photography-loving family members who have a loads of great cameras and analog equipment.

What is your most memorable career moment?

Every season is memorable for different reason but we still do remember from where we started. In 2016 we shot our first wedding outside Italy, in the Spanish countryside, and we are still in touch with that couple, so much that years later we photographed the bride's sister's wedding in Marbella.

This is one of our goals, to leave a good memory of us and maintain ties over years to come.

What inspires you?

We get to develop our style and approach thanks to the excellent studies that we then reflect in wedding photography. Many artists of the past, whose styles remain authentic even today, have influenced us.

There are also many contemporary emergent photographers with great talent in the use of color and composition that we admire.

How would you describe your working style?

We try our best to be a good presence during the whole day. We are the first ones to not be very comfortable in from of a camera, so we perfectly understand couples who feel a little shy being photographed. Our goal is to become invisible or like a quiet guest. Before the wedding day we try to set a good connection with the couple being flexible, communicative and open to requests or needs, always making sure we are on the same page regarding our photographic style and approach.

Do you shoot digitally, on film or both?

We both shoot with digital and film cameras at the same time during weddings.

Do you have custom packages according to individual needs?

We have two basics packs and different packs for multi-day weddings. Of course we are flexible in order to meet our couple's different needs. The final quote is customized for the couple.

What is a favourite product or service that you offer and why?

We work with a fantastic fine art printing laboratory that follows our work step by step and produces high-level albums and prints.

Where would you love to travel to for work?

It would be a dream for us to go out of Europe and discover new places and cultures, like the ones that most of our couples come from.

Who is your dream client?

A couple who trusts us. Every wedding photographer’s dream client, we guess!

What is your advice to couples getting married?

It’s difficult to give advice on such personal and special moment like a wedding day. Maybe the best thing a couple could do is to enjoy every moment - from the organization to the wedding day. Make choices and decisions that really represent you and not because of trends or 'rules'.
