The Shalom Imaginative are a wedding photography collective based in Los Angeles specialising in capturing candid, real moments in a documentary style. Based in California and often working in Joshua Tree and Palm Springs, The Shalom Imaginative also travel worldwide to capture weddings.

We are a team of artists documenting weddings on film, digital, and video. We over ten years of experience capturing weddings in a documentary style. Many of the couples we work with are also artists, and we love the creative collaboration that makes each wedding unique.
What would you like couples to know about your business?
Our highest priority is to create a safe space for everyone. We want couples to be able to see themselves in our portfolio. We welcome every culture, gender identity and expression, age, color, sexual orientation, and belief.
Where are you based?
We are based in Los Angeles.
Do you travel for weddings?
Yes! We often document weddings all across North America. We also have traveled all over the globe documenting love stories. Some past favorites include Mexico City, Paris, Hong Kong, Loch Lomond Scotland, the English countryside and San Miguel De Allende.
How would you describe your style?
Documentary, emotive, real, relaxed, timeless, and fun.
What is your most memorable career moment?
Traveling to Hong Kong to document a local wedding in the heart of the city.
What inspires you?
The Californian landscape, human emotions, and consuming other art forms such as music, films, literature or interior design.
What motivates you to do what you do?
Getting to tell meaningful stories, experience traditions from other cultures, and crossing paths with beautiful souls from all different walks of life.

Both.

What is a favourite product or service that you offer and why?
Analogue film - nothing beats the tones, the gritty imperfection, and nostalgic fun that film brings to our coverage.
Where would you love to travel to for work?
Japan, Portugal or Alaska.
Who is your dream client?
Creative couples who throw out tradition for the sake of tradition however, keep the sacred and meaningful ones. Couples who add unique and totally weird personal touches that make the day feel completely them.
