Tell us about your business!
Hi, I'm Zoë. Wedding photographer. Human being. ’80s baby. Mum. Storyteller. Soulful creative. Artist.
Starting from a Minolta film camera and a makeshift darkroom in my backyard, fast forward and I have more cameras than time to use them and an evolved, everlasting love of making art out of memories.
Creative explorations set a wildfire of fulfilment through my life. For 12 years now, being witness to weddings while I photograph the ever-present love and romance is one of my favourite ways to spend a day.
What would you like couples to know about you?
As a wedding photographer I will always go the extra mile for all of my couples. I love to make sure they have the most perfect day, whilst also making sure all of their beautiful memories are captured. My priority is to make everyone feel comfortable with having their photograph taken, even the couples that tell me that they feel awkward in front of the camera. At the end of the day we will just be mates hanging out whilst I grab stunning photos! My couples always have the best time with me.
Where are you based?
I live in the Blue Mountains in NSW, but I shoot weddings all over Australia. Predominantly down the South Coast and Southern Highlands, but also been known to fly abroad to Italy, Greece and Switzerland.
Do you travel for weddings?
Yes! I’m always travelling for weddings, there is no where I won’t go.
How would you describe your style?
I grew up with an artistic background, my mother is a painter and sculptor so for me having an artistic approach to capturing photographs has always come naturally for me. I love to photograph moments that are authentic and sincere. Documenting the day naturally, without anything overly posed or forced is how I approach each wedding.
What is your most memorable career moment?
Probably when I photographed a wedding and Margot Robbie was a guest, was hard to stop staring at her. She is as beautiful in real life as she is on the screen.
What inspires you?
I love gaining inspiration from artists outside of the wedding world, past and present. I grew up addicted to the work of photojournalists like Sebastiāo Salgado and street photographers like Elliot Erwitt. The way they are able to capture a moment in time with true genuine emotion is very inspiring.
What motivates you to do what you do?
I am just motivated to work in the field of photography and do what I love for a living. I have never had a 9-5 job, it doesn’t suit my creative spirit. I love just putting all my creating energy into documenting a wedding a beautifully as possible, and the gratitude I receive from happy clients keeps me motivated to continue to grow as a photographer.
How would you describe your working style?
I am passionate, friendly and very committed to capturing a wedding day as professionally as possible to the best of my abilities. I will always go the extra mile for my clients, and am committed to making sure they have a wonderful wedding day whilst not having to stress the small stuff.
Do you shoot digitally, on film or both?
I shoot both!
Do you have custom packages according to individual needs?
Yes! Happy to customise packages to fit individual needs. All weddings are different and I am happy to accomodate my couples in any way possible.
What is a favourite product or service that you offer and why?
I love offering film. It adds a beautiful classic and artistic quality to each wedding.
Where would you love to travel to for work?
Anywhere warm! I live in the Blue Mountains where its always cold, so anywhere with sunshine and I will be happy!
Who is your dream client?
Someone like me, who is friendly and open to new ideas. Who likes to go with the flow but also appreciates creativity. Who loves authentic photographs that capture true emotion!
What is your advice to couples getting married?
I believe in organisation and prep before the wedding day, and then handing over everything to your trusted vendors. Then just enjoy the day! Soak up every minute, rain, hail, or shine. Once the day has arrived there is not that much you are left to control, so the best advice I can give is to go with the flow and enjoy.
