Tell us about your business!

Sierra Dawn Photo was born out of a love for people and the stories that connect them. Over the years, photography became much more than creating beautiful images for me. It became a way of preserving memories, relationships and the feeling of a moment before it quietly slips away.

I am drawn to weddings because they bring together all of your favorite people in one place. There is something incredibly special about witnessing generations, friendships and families gathered together to celebrate a story that is uniquely yours.

My work blends an editorial eye with genuine emotion, creating photographs that feel beautiful, but more importantly, honest. I want my couples to remember not only how their day looked, but how it felt.

What would you like couples to know about you?

I care deeply about the people I work with. I want my couples to feel comfortable, cared for and completely themselves in front of my camera.

Some moments call for gentle guidance and others simply need space to unfold naturally. I believe some of the most meaningful photographs happen when people feel safe enough to be present.

More than anything, I hope my couples walk away feeling like they had a friend beside them throughout the day.

How would you describe your style?

I would describe my style as cinematic, romantic and emotionally driven. I love imagery that feels timeless, with movement, beautiful light and a balance between artistry and authenticity.

I am inspired by film, fashion and thoughtful design, but I never want aesthetics to overpower emotion. I want my work to feel beautiful because the moment itself was beautiful.

What inspires you?

People inspire me most.

The way someone reaches for their partner without thinking, a parent trying to hold back tears, friends laughing together on the dance floor and the quiet moments in between everything else.

I am also endlessly inspired by old films, music, architecture, travel and beautiful details, but human connection will always be at the heart of what I do.

How would you describe your working style?

I approach weddings with a calm presence, but I also know when to bring the fun and step in with direction when it is needed.

I want my couples to feel fully present on their wedding day, never like they are performing for the camera. Some moments deserve quiet observation and others deserve excitement and celebration. I naturally move between both.

My goal is always the same. To create photographs that feel effortless, meaningful and true to the people in them.

Do you shoot digitally, on film or both?

I photograph weddings using both digital and film.

I love digital for its versatility and ability to document moments as they unfold, but I have a special love for film. There is something about its softness, texture and natural color that feels incredibly nostalgic and human to me.

Using both mediums allows me to create galleries that feel layered, timeless and full of emotion.

What is a favourite product or service that you offer and why?

One of my favorite things to incorporate into wedding days is medium format film.

There is something so beautiful about the colors, texture and softness it creates. What I love most is that film asks you to trust yourself. You cannot immediately look back to see if everything was perfect. You have to trust your eye, trust the moment and create with confidence.

I think that process brings a level of intention and authenticity into the photographs that I love.

Who is your dream client?

My dream clients appreciate beautiful details, but never at the expense of meaning.

They care about creating an experience that feels true to who they are. They value connection, presence and celebrating with the people they love most.

I am especially drawn to couples who understand that while flowers, fashion and design are important, the memories created with all of your favorite people gathered together are what truly make a wedding unforgettable.

What is your advice to couples getting married?

Be intentional about how you want your wedding to feel.

At the end of the day, you have all of your favorite people together in one place, something that rarely happens in life. Stay present, trust the people you hired and allow yourself to fully experience it.

Years from now, you will remember how people made you feel far more than any timeline or perfectly planned detail.
