Tell us about your business!
I’m Ruthie, a wedding photographer based in Austin, Texas, traveling across the U.S. to document wedding weekends with a personal approach and a soft footprint.
What would you like couples to know about you?
I document weddings with calm discretion, a deep respect for each once-in-a-lifetime moment, and a unique flair for fashion—creating soulfully personal photographs couples return to for a lifetime.
Where are you based?
I live in Austin, Texas, and serve clients worldwide. I frequently photograph weddings in New York City and California.
Do you travel for weddings?
Yes, I document weddings across the U.S., from intimate gatherings to multi-day celebrations. Each one takes on its own distinct character—a reflection of the couple’s personality, culture, and family.
How would you describe your style?
My style blends a documentary, photojournalistic approach with a fashion-forward editorial eye. Authenticity sits at the heart of my work—I want every image to feel true to the couple and reflective of who they are.
What inspires you?
I’m inspired by light and how it interacts with different environments, traveling to new places, color, pattern, unique fashion, art museums, meeting new people, and time spent in nature.
My heritage and family are a constant source of inspiration. I love old photographs—images of my grandparents, snapshots from my childhood, and the timeless quality of worn prints from decades past. I want my work can stand the test of time in the same way—serving as lasting memories for my couples, just as I now treasure my own grandparents’ wedding photos from fifty years ago.
How would you describe your working style?
My goal is for my clients to feel fully present on their wedding day, trusting that everything meaningful is being noticed and preserved without interruption. They can move through the celebration without self-consciousness, knowing their families, relationships, and both the big and small moments are being documented with care and discretion.
When they return to their photographs years later, they don’t see a production—they see themselves, their people, and a day that still feels honest, grounded, and deeply worth remembering.
Do you shoot digitally, on film or both?
I photograph using both film and digital, and every wedding day is documented across both mediums. Film is a central part of my process, and I love the timeless, nostalgic quality it brings to a wedding day.
Do you have custom packages according to individual needs?
Yes, every client receives custom collections tailored to their specific wedding weekend. I build travel into these collections so pricing is clear upfront, with no surprise costs down the line.
What is a favourite product or service that you offer and why?
I love documenting full wedding weekends, not just a single day, but a multi-day experience. It allows for a more complete story to unfold and turns the celebration into something far beyond 24 hours.
Where would you love to travel to for work?
There are so many places! I love any time I have spent shooting in California and New England! Also, anywhere in Europe or Central America!
Who is your dream client?
I have the very best clients! I would say I serve intentional couples who value creating deeply personal wedding experiences. They value being present with their partner, family and guests, and making decisions that reflect their personality, not doing something for the sake of tradition. Ultimately, they just want to make special memories they can remember forever, since this once-in-a-lifetime moment.
