Tell us about Makayla Casey Photography

My business is a luxury wedding and editorial photography studio based in South Florida and available worldwide. I focus on creating timeless, fashion-forward images that feel authentic, emotional, and artfully curated. I work with couples who value style, connection, and experiences, and my approach blends documentary moments with intentional direction so their gallery feels both elevated and deeply personal.

What would you like couples to know about you?

My communication style is warm, responsive, and tailored to each couple. From the moment we connect, I make the planning process feel seamless by adapting to my clients’ preferences. Whether they love quick texts, detailed emails, or scheduled calls. Because many of my couples value style and thoughtful details, I bring that same eye for fashion and design into our conversations, offering creative direction and guidance when it’s helpful, while always leaving space for their vision. My approach is collaborative and intentional: I listen closely, anticipate needs, and ensure my clients feel supported every step of the way. Many describe me as feeling more like a trusted friend than just a photographer, which allows me to blend professionalism with a personal touch.

Where are you based?

West Palm Beach, Florida.

Do you travel for weddings?

Absolutely!

How would you describe your style?

I would consider my work as luxury-driven, timeless, and editorial, yet always approachable. It blends the sophistication of fashion photography with the intimacy of personal storytelling. I try to make every frame feel carefully composed but never stiff. I like to say "where art direction meets authentic moments".

Aesthetic qualities: timeless elegance with a modern edge, romantic and warm, candid meets curated, very film inspired.

What is your most memorable career moment?

I would probably say a big memorable career moment would be shooting New York Bridal Fashion Week! I now go twice a year and I still pinch myself.

What inspires you?

I can take inspiration from so many things. The fashion world in particular ignites my creativity often with textures and designs. I am always experimenting with lighting and shadows. I also find simple human connection to be inspiring too. It forces me to be a listener, a fly on the wall, often reminding me not to take moments for granted.

How would you describe your working style?

My working style is a blend of editorial direction and natural, documentary storytelling. I step in with guidance when it elevates the moment. I am here to pose, style, and create beautiful composed scenes, but I also know when to step back and let things unfold naturally. The result is imagery that feels polished yet real.

Do you shoot digitally, on film or both?

I shoot both.

Do you have custom packages according to individual needs?

Yes, I absolutely do! You can find my starting price on my website, but other than that I offer a very customized approach to my packaging.

What is a favourite product or service that you offer and why?

Without a doubt it’s film photography. Over the years I have slowly implicated the use of film photography into my workflow and it genuinely makes a world of difference in my galleries. Not only does it add a variety element to my galleries, it’s uniquely curated. It also just makes me a more intentional photographer, makes me slow down and really take in each moment as it comes.

Where would you love to travel to for work?

Particularly The Sea Ranch Lodge in California, Hotel Chelsea in New York and Amangiri in Utah are my bucket list venues. I would say I particularly prefer to travel within the US or Europe, however I’m very open and inspired to travel.

Who is your dream client?

My ideal client values style, authenticity, and the elegance of spending meaningful time with loved ones. They appreciate the finer things in life and understand the importance of preserving them. They love to travel, explore, and dress up for a beautiful evening shared with their favorite people.

When it comes to photography, they seek someone who can provide thoughtful art direction while also capturing the candid, unposed moments that make a celebration truly personal. Someone who feels like part of the family, present for the big gestures and attuned to the quiet, fleeting details.

What is your advice to couples getting married?

Don’t lose sight of what’s truly important. Let yourself take it all in. Throughout the day, pause to ground yourself, both on your own and together. Everything moves quickly, so notice what it feels like, what it tastes like, what it smells like. You’ll want to remember it all. And from a photography perspective, being fully present creates the most beautiful, candid moments. The ones that instantly take you right back to how it all felt.
