Tell us about your business!

Hello, I'm Maddy! I am based on the Gold Coast and absolutely love shooting weddings that ditch the rules. I am a mother to two busy boys, love the outdoors and If I am not working Im probably camping. I run my business with a focus on capturing real, honest moments with a documentary approach. I will always feel honoured to be trusted with people's wedding days.

What would you like couples to know about you?

I care a lot about the connection I have with my couples. I am genuinely stoked to be apart of your day and I hope that you feel that in every second of your day with me. I bring a very relaxed vibe to your day and also love to have a bit of fun.

Where are you based?

Gold Coast, Queensland but spend a lot of time in Byron Bay as well.

Do you travel for weddings?

I absolutely love travelling for weddings. I look forward to all the new places my job will take me.

How would you describe your style?

My style is editorial and artful. I photograph in a documentary style and I offer gentle guidance when needed but let things unfold naturally. Before your day I will work with you on a moodboard so we are aligned with a vision for the day.

What is your most memorable career moment?

The end of the night when a couple thanks me and tells me how happy they are to have shared their day with me or how I made them feel so comfortable. Being trusted and invited into something so personal will always feel like a privilege to me.

What inspires you?

I am inspired by home interiors, travel - new places especially, architecture, vintage anything, fashion, art and nature. On a wedding day I am deeply inspired by the love stories and the kind of connection that unfolds naturally across a wedding day - from emotional speeches to wild dance floors to end the night.

How would you describe your working style?

It is really important to me that my couples feel natural and present on their wedding day. I am not overly directive - I gently encourage moments and interactions that feel genuine, then the best moments unfold from there.

Do you shoot digitally, on film or both?

I shoot both digital and film. This year I would love to focus on shooting more film. There is just something about film that I am always obsessed with!

Do you have custom packages according to individual needs?

Yes every wedding is different , so I am always willing to work with my clients to accommodate what they need and want for their special day. I am happy to customise any package.

What is a favourite product or service that you offer and why?

The 35mm film add on is always a special option for me, there is just something about the look and feel of film transporting you back to the day that nothing can compare to.

Where would you love to travel to for work?

I would love to go to one location especially, I dream about Tonnara Di Scopello! So it would be pretty magical to do a few weddings in Europe.

Who is your dream client?

Someone that is creative at heart and loves to do things a little different, who also has a love for fashion and values artistic imagery with a down to earth personality (cherry on top).

How do you select music for your films?

I usually ask my clients for a song that means something to them as a couple.

What is your advice to couples getting married?

Surround yourself with vendors you trust, organisation makes the whole day flow so much lighter. Infuse yourselves and your love story in every detail of your day so it is truly about you both. Relax and enjoy as it goes by so quickly!
