With a background in fashion and documenting in both digital and film Louise Golding blends an authentic, documentary style with fashion forward frames providing storytelling imagery with an editorial perspective. Louise Golding is based in Portugal and travels throughout Europe and beyond to capture weddings.

What would you like couples to know about you?

I love to truly connect with my couples and take the time to understand their vision for their day—the little details, the big moments, and everything in between. I intentionally take on a limited number of weddings each year so that I can fully immerse myself in each one, dedicating the time, creative energy, and thoughtful attention it deserves. This approach allows me to not only capture the essence of your celebration but also to bring a unique perspective that highlights what makes your love story truly special. I want every wedding I photograph to feel personal, intentional, and reflective of the couple at the heart of it, so that the memories we create together are as meaningful as they are beautiful.

Where are you based?

I am based in Portugal.

Do you travel for weddings?

Definitely! Travel is one of my biggest passions, so I love any opportunity to board a plane and discover a new destination!

How would you describe your style?

I would say that my photography style is emotionally honest, thoughtfully elevated and true in tone. Authentic, timeless, fashion focused!

What inspires you?

Travel and exploring different cultures are my biggest inspirations. Experiencing new places, styles, and perspectives keeps my work fresh and dynamic, and I love bringing that energy, creativity, and global influence into every wedding I photograph.

How would you describe your working style?

I work in a very natural way, finding beauty in the unposed and capturing a wedding day as it naturally unfolds. Yet I have an eye for an editorial frame and am happy to guide and compose when needed.

I believe in the art of noticing and even though it’s hard to describe, I kind of ‘feel the day’ capturing how the day feels, the small unseen moments as well as the big moments. Achieving not just wedding photos but images that evoke emotion – enabling couples to relive their wedding days - not just what it looked like, but how it felt.

Do you shoot digitally, on film or both?

Both! I have my much loved and very faithful digital cameras and a beautiful array of film cameras too! Film was where I first began, so I am a huge fan of mixing some gorgeous Kodak Portra film into a digital wedding gallery to show those raw honest moments that I adore so much.

Do you have custom packages according to individual needs?

Yes, I offer bespoke packages. I have a base rate for a set number of hours, but then I tend to work closely with each couple to understand their vision. From there, we create a package that is tailored to them and the coverage that they need. I work on both small intimate weddings and large multi-day event weddings.

What is a favourite product or service that you offer and why?

Definitely film photography! More and more couples are asking for it these days and I love it. Film really encourages me to slow down and focus. There is no instant gratification with film, no checking the back of the camera - so it requires composure, patience and time to ensure that each shot is captured with meaning and intention. I also love the creative aspect to film, the occasional light leaks, the imperfections, the grain – the true reflection of the moment.

I also have a deep appreciation for multi-day weddings. Spending time with the couple, their families and their friends over several days brings about a relaxed atmosphere, builds trust, and allows for more genuine connections.

Where would you love to travel to for work?

I would love to shoot a wedding in Iceland and Japan. I have been very fortunate to work in some incredible countries, but these two are still very much on the wanted list.

Who is your dream client?

I adore working with couples who are easy going and full of joy, with an appreciation for style, aesthetics, and the little details that make a day memorable. Couples who are kind, grounded, and share my love for authentic, honest storytelling —those who value the artistry, experience and time and care more about the feeling of the day than just perfection.
