Tell us about your business!
I’m Hannah— an LA based photographer for bold and artistic couples.
Do you travel for weddings?
Absolutely! I’m available both domestically and internationally.
How would you describe your style?
My style is incredibly intuitive, customized intentionally to each couple, which means each wedding day I capture has a slightly different vibe based on my couples’ specific personalities. It lands somewhere between heavily candid and intentionally editorial, with a bit of attitude in the mix! People often say they can see the actual couple in my photographs exactly as they are, instead of a one-size-fits-all depiction. The empath in me quickly matches the energies of my couples and their story, and I capture their day accordingly, even if it means breaking a few traditional “wedding photography norms” along the way.
What is your most memorable career moment?
The first wedding I shot in France takes the cake. It was borderline spiritual. Everything that day was so aligned - the couple, their people, and I were all right where we wanted to be, and I knew I was simultaneously stepping into a new tier in my career in real time. So special.
What inspires you?
Humanness. It’s raw. It’s real. It’s the most beautiful thing on the planet. It ebbs and flows and grows and shrivels like a kaleidoscope, and getting to document it as it’s happening through my lens, there’s nothing like it.
Other than that, I’m a sucker for a fabulously designed tablescape, architecture I can’t stop gawking at, fashion that makes me want to put down my camera and applaud, and all the weird personal quirks my couples bring into their day. (Also the color red. Always red.)
How would you describe your working style?
I’m a bit of a chameleon! While some of my couples like direction and involvement from me, for others, too much direction is overwhelming, so for them, I slip into the shadows and let them be. I meet my couples where they are, and I don’t force energy that isn’t there. If the day is calm, I capture calm. If the day’s a riot, we have a great time!
What is a favourite product or service that you offer and why?
My engagement shoots! While I absolutely adore wedding days themselves, my shoots are pretty special. I dig deep and create based on my couples’ personalities. This means we could shoot at a dive bar in the desert, an elevated underground speakeasy, a quirky motel in the forest, or even an abandoned car lot. We break rules. We have fun. The best!
Where would you love to travel to for work?
Greece and Italy! But honestly, the sky’s the limit. Every place I go—even a less “romanticized” location—has a secret story buried inside. Take me there, and I’ll find it.
Who is your dream client?
Artisans. Pioneers. Self-expressive people who value authenticity, creativity, and the emotional side of human experience. They love hard and live passionately. They’re deeply connected to their personal values and break boundaries in their lifestyle choices and personal aesthetics. They’re in tune with all the flavors of life (the beautiful and the ugly). They’re allergic to stereotypes and being caught inside “normality” for normality’s sake. In short, they take pride in how they live, and their wedding days follow suit.
What is your advice to couples getting married?
Get incredibly clear on what you want from your wedding experience before making any decisions! Do a deep dive into yourselves—write down who you are and the reasons you’re even having a wedding. Use that to align together on the type of experience you want to have, and the kind of memories you want to carry with you till you’re 80. Then build your day from there, go with your gut, and romanticize the process! (Also, take your time. Ideas often come to light over time that you may miss if you rush into decisions.)
