Based in Rome, Francesca Angrisano aims to capture genuine moments, highlighting every small detail of the day. She appreciates imperfections and works with both digital and film formats. Her style can be poetic or editorial, and above all, she values authenticity. Francesca Angrisano travels globally and is eager to photograph weddings in Egypt and Japan.

Tell us about your business!

I have been a wedding photographer for about 15 years. I studied 3 years of photography to start with and at the beginning I wanted to do fashion photography, but mainly I liked to photograph everything. Then I found that the only area where you can really photograph every genre of photography at the same time is weddings. And so, I started to pursue my own style, but the road is always open and it's long and fascinating to go down. My intent is to capture authentic moments, not forgetting every little detail of the day, and there is no shortage of blurry photos and film photos because imperfection is totally a part of me.

What would you like couples to know about you?

I like to put everyone at ease by joking all the time but first of all I am a very professional photographer. I love flowers and all animals in general, dogs in particular. Last thing: I am a very emotional person, I always cry at the bride's dance with daddy and if there are grandparents then I don't hold back.

Where are you based?

Roma, Italy.

Do you travel for weddings?

Yes of course, I love traveling and discovering new places in and out of Italy!

How would you describe your style?

Authentic is my favourite word, but even loose editorial and artistic.

What is your most memorable career moment?

Every year, and every new season brings memorable moments. Going to New York to photograph a wedding was definitely an important moment in my career, but being invited to speak at three international workshops was also a great honour.

What inspires you?

Art, first of all, but even movies, fashion, places, music, people, moments and whatever happens around me.

How would you describe your working style?

I really enjoy observing, and anything that catches my attention must be photographed, whether it's

a shadow, a light, a gesture, or a detail. I am very present throughout the day and act differently

depending on the moment. I am passive and capture what happens during the preparations, dinner,

ceremony and party, and then active when I need to, for example, direct the couple just enough to

get the images I am looking for. But throughout the day, my intention is to portray the wedding for

what it is, namely a couple's special day, and not my personal photo shoot.

Do you shoot digitally, on film or both?

Always both! and with many cameras (4 or 5 usually).

Do you have custom packages according to individual needs?

Yes I do, Weddings and clients' needs are not standardized, so I price according to different factors.

What is a favourite product or service that you offer and why?

When clients ask me to create an album, I find it's the best way to showcase their work and their special day. Lots of photos left on a hard drive are not appreciated as they should be. And Super 8 film because it’s real and special and very emotional.

Where would you love to travel to for work?

I dream of a wedding in Egypt under the pyramids, but also somewhere exotic, or even Northern

Europe or Japan! I'd be willing to go to Japan for free!

Who is your dream client?

The client who chooses you because they want your style and your photos and is willing to invest in

their memories. I think that's everyone's ideal client.

What is your advice to couples getting married?

Have fun! Enjoy your day. If you have chosen the right suppliers, you don't need to worry about anything else!
