What would you like couples to know about you?

I’ve been told by many couples I bring a calm and grounding energy to the day.

Where are you based?

I’m based in Portland, Oregon.

Do you travel for weddings?

Yes, most weddings I photograph are out of state.

How would you describe your style?

I am a documentary photographer at heart. I really respond to the day based on people’s energy and presence. Sometimes my couples are more quiet and introverted and other times they’re more expressive and outgoing and I want my work to reflect that. My work is filled with quieter moments and subtleties that make my images tender, gentle and unguarded. My love of portraits also plays a role in my style.

What inspires you?

Photo books! I love sitting down and flipping through work people have printed. I’m a big fan of street photography so I have a pretty great collection of books on my shelves. I also love fashion and how people style themselves - how fun it is we can express ourselves in this way!

How would you describe your working style?

I approach weddings like a street photographer. Anticipation is a key skill in photographing the unplanned and unexpected. Most of the day I’m capturing moments as they unfold and not interfering. I’m not afraid to get close up to the action when necessary - those can make the most interesting and intimate photographs. However, I will step in and give a little more direction when needed like for family photos and portraits.

Do you shoot digitally, on film or both?

I shoot both. Most of my work is shot on film, however I always have a digital camera on my person as backup and when lighting conditions aren’t suitable for film. Each medium has their own strengths and I let intuition guide my decisions.

Do you have custom package according to individual needs?

Of course. I recognize there are different needs for couples and I’m happy to create a custom package for them.

Who is your dream client?

My dream clients are ones who are so attuned to their day, their guests, and each other that they forget about photos.

What is your advice to couples getting married?

Really lean into what feels right when planning for the day. Think about what will bring you the most joy and peace and go from there.
