Brooke Nalani cares deeply for each couple she works with and the relationships made are at the heart of her business. Based in Seattle and SoCal, Brooke Nalani travels worldwide for weddings and works alongside planners to realise each couple's dream day. Her photography style combines traditional, editorial, and documentary elements, using both digital and film formats. She aims to fill each wedding day with laughter and authentic moments, steering clear of posed shots.

That would you like couples to know about you?

This is far more than a job for me. I want every couple to feel entirely cared for throughout our time together. I don’t want their day to be filled with awkward, forced smiles and staged poses. I want it to be filled with laughter, vulnerability, and intentional moments. I want to fully invest in each couple and who they are. All the raw and imperfect parts of their love, I want to know because that’s what makes love truly beautiful. Each and every one of their stories is different and unique, so I am here to document every detail.

Where are you based?

Seattle and SoCal but I travel worldwide.

Do you travel for weddings?

Yes! Domestically and internationally.

What inspires you?

My work is inspired by raw emotion, organic laughter, movement, sunlight, the coast, earth tones, period pieces, and natural landscapes. And my couples’ stories are at the center of it all.

How would you describe your working style?

I am a blend of traditional, editorial, and documentary wedding photography styles. I lean heavily documentary but love the art behind editorial images and could photograph details all day long. When the day requires it I am more hands on and direct, but my favorite moments are when I can step back and let the raw emotion unfold before me.

Do you shoot digitally, on film or both?

I shoot on digital and film, 35mm and 120.

Do you have custom packages according to individual needs?

With each inquiry I go in and customize a package according to each individuals needs. My packages are all inclusive.

Where would you love to travel to for work?

Italy, France, Milos Greece, Spain, truly anywhere in Europe.

Who is your dream client?

My dream client is the one who truly trusts me and my vision. The one who confides in me like they’ve known me for the last ten years. I absolutely love it when clients reach out to me for recommendations and design input. Wedding days are made so much better when vendors and clients work together in a beautiful collaboration. That is when true art is made.

What is your advice to couples getting married?

Do your best to plan everything before the day comes, hire vendors you can truly trust. Then, when the day arrives, allow yourself to let go. You don’t want the experience of your wedding day to be robbed from you by stressing out over every little detail. Take a deep breath, and remember why you are there. To marry the love of your life.
