Tell us about your business!

I started photographing weddings in 2021 with the intention to really let my couples be the ones who tell their story. I’ve always been fascinated with fashion, people and genuine human connection. Photography has been my most enjoyable creative endeavor for more than a decade and getting to fuse it with my interests has been beyond fulfilling.

What would you like couples to know about you?

I’m serious in my craft, but also want to have a good time and celebrate your love story. I’ve been told I bring a calming presence to my couples, and that trusted feeling is something I cherish. I’m a bit of a perfectionist with my craft, but I understand that wedding days have their own rhythm. I am there to observe and capture that.

Where are you based?

Chicago, IL.

Do you travel for weddings?

Primarily local to Chicago, but I am willing to travel on a case by case basis!

How would you describe your style?

I’d say dynamic, documentary-influenced with a pinch of editorial flare. I tell all my couples that most of their day is captured in an organic, unobtrusive way. A priority of mine is that the photos feel true to life.

What is your most memorable career moment?

I would say for every couple that has trusted in me to capture their day, I leave a little piece of myself with that day. The memories live through me and through the photos I capture, and for that I’m always grateful.

What inspires you?

Weddings are the culmination of everything I enjoy: loved ones who matter most, a reason to look your best, and fleeting human connection that can only be captured once. I find that the marriage of my values and appreciation for beautiful aesthetics brings me so much joy in life. My creative brain is always on.

What motivates you to do what you do?

Occasionally, I’ll get a note from a couple or a mom, or a wedding guest, that strikes a chord in me about how important it is I get to do what I do. My motivation is the people in your life at that moment in time.

How would you describe your working style?

I’m pretty relaxed and have a hands off-approach throughout the day. I definitely guide my couple and direct where necessary, but the best moments aren’t created in a vacuum. The majority of the day unfolds naturally, so I capture it as such.

Do you shoot digitally, on film or both?

I shoot on both. I do give my couples the choice, but film offers something that digital simply can’t replicate.

Do you have custom packages according to individual needs?

I have a few base packages in addition to several al la carte options that allow for a customizable wedding offering. Smaller, intimate weddings and elopements usually include a custom proposal on my end once I hear more about the day.

Where would you love to travel to for work?

Chicago offers a lot of visual complexity, but New York City & the Los Angeles area are high areas of interest for me.

Who is your dream client?

Couples who are fully present. What drives fantastic imagery? Being fully enthralled in your day and focused on the love you have for each other. A little fashionable flare and pride in going against the grain helps, but that stuff means nothing without the importance of the day shining through.

What is your advice to couples getting married?

Do you. It’s fine to observe trends, but the best weddings stem from just being yourselves.
