Do you travel for weddings?
Absolutely! It’s usually a whole weekend celebration and I get to meet my couples families and friends before the big day. I have been honored to visit India, Japan, Mexico, Guatemala, Colombia, Peru, and many cities in the United States. I love visiting new cities and basking in the sun near a tropical beach.
How would you describe your style?
My style is filmy, candid, fun, colorful, street like, artful, and with an editorial flare.
What is your most memorable career moment?
The most memorable moment in my career is when a couple asked me to capture their civil wedding on film. FYI— I would only use film photography for my own personal and creative editorial work, plus I had only photograph 1-2 civil weddings on a digital camera at the time.
5 years later, the same couple asked me to join them at their destination wedding in India with their families. It felt like a full circle moment. The same couple who helped me discover that I could photograph weddings on film, also showed me I could do this on an international level.
They made me realize I can stay true to who I am as an artist. I can fuse my love for weddings, people, and film photography— the right people will see themselves in my work, love my style of art, and we can all authentically be unapologetically ourselves.
What inspires you?
Cinematic films will always be my first love and inspiration. The way motion artist story tell, bring emotions out, and the way they play with composition or light. I love a good film by Wong Kar Wai, Spike Lee, or anything by A24. I also pull a lot of inspiration from museums, art books, and my own family.
Do you shoot digitally, on film or both?
I photograph in both digital and film. But mostly in 120 / 35mm and super8.
Do you have custom packages according to individual needs?
I offer custom packages depending on couples needs with budgets between 7k-12k.
What is a favourite product or service that you offer and why?
One thing I am proud to offer in my services is all day coverage and weekend soirées. This way my couples do not feel like they have to compromise time and they can fully be present with their loved ones. This also allows me to weave a tapestry of moments unique to their celebration and love story.
Who is your dream client?
My dream clients are people who are fun, appreciate art and cinematic films, creative in their own way, love fashion, good food, and honor time with the people they love.
What is your advice to couples getting married?
Wedding planning can be stressful and it’s easy to get caught up in trends and traditions. In the moments you are feeling overwhelmed; remember your values as a couple. Go back to the reasons why you chose to have a wedding and prioritize the things that are important to you. This is where you begin to build your foundation.
