DESIGNER Harriette Gordon | Grace

Harriette Gordon's newest collection was almost named Hope. Part new, part extension of Sonnet XVII, this collection Grace is for the year of 2021 following the twists and turns of 2020.

"Grace is a feeling, a softening to what is beyond our control. These pieces are designed for intimate ceremonies and elopements. My hope is for the bride to give herself grace."

The collection consists of nine contemporary pieces including separates and accessories - and some remastered versions of our Hariette Gordon favourites - such as the 2.2 Satin Organza Mini in powder blue. The 2.6 Organza Midi and the new 2.3 Lantern gown, are also breathtaking options for the bride who can't see herself wearing white. The show stopping Grace Tulle gown, the 2.3 Ivory Lantern and the 2.6 Natural Satin Organza Midi gowns make exquisite choices for the hopeless romantic, who wants to combine a gorgeous soft and feminine style with a modern trwist. The mini lovers have also not been forgotten with the formal release of the 2.7 Lace Mini - which still encompasses a feeling of elegance and formality, despite the more relaxed length. There are also separates and accessories which can be styled with a number of her gowns, such as the 3.11 Cross Front Organza Blouse and the new 3.12 Mikado plain belt.

It is clear to see Harriette's eye for detail and quality craftsmanship in all her pieces - Grace is a beautifully considered collection.

In 2014 launched Harriette Gordon Bridal specialising in custom made to measure bridal gowns. Since then her gowns has evolved into a made to order collection of classic bridal gowns, detailed special pieces and sought after embellished veils. The first made to order collection was launched in 2019, Collection One, and Sonnet XVII, was recently released - with Grace following suit.

"The woman I think of when I design is one who has a respect for quality, an appreciation for sustainable design and a love for music, art, film and poetry. She might not know she is this woman, but she is drawn to our style and in turn she leaves feeling like herself, like a wonderful version of herself."

"We insist on working with the best fabrics, mainly silk in premium weight and multiple forms, laces from Italy, France, Japan and India.
The veils and a selection of our dresses are constructed in our Fremantle studio, located in a 1912 built character hotel turned office space. We now have support from two skilled production houses located in the City of Perth - all our pieces are handmade and we value a slow, sustainable approach to fashion."

Harriette Gordon is an Australian designer, creating thoughtful, romantic and refined bridal pieces for the woman of today. Harriette was completely besotted with fashion from a young age. Alongside studying, Harriette worked as a sample machinist for local designers and more permanently at a clothing alteration store. This was an invaluable experience on fit and tailoring to many body types and is a skill that has been evident in her designs.
