Tell us a little about yourselves!

We live in Sydney’s Inner West and have been together for 8 years.

Why did you decide to get married where you did?

We got married at Daniel’s Yiayia’s home because we wanted a small, intimate ceremony in the company of our close family. The home holds so many special memories for us both, so the backyard was perfect for it.

How many guests did you have?

33. Damien Milan captured our day.

What was your budget? 

$20-25K.

Tell us about your outfits.

Ruby: I found the two piece online from a Melbourne based designer (Van Der Kooij). It felt fun and classic. I also wanted it to be something I could wear again. 

Daniel: My friend recommended I check out local tailor P Johnson. They were fantastic. I wanted to go for a slightly old school fit with an earthy olive aesthetic to complement my Yiayia’s backyard.

What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?

Keeping it authentic but also relatively low-key, so we could be present and enjoy the moment.

Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?

Ruby walked down the aisle to music performed by her brother Vince and friends. Good food was a non-negotiable as well.

Any tips for couples getting married?

Do what you want – don’t worry too much about the expectations of others. It’s your day.
