Tell us about Moon Realm!

Moon Realm is a creative event studio specializing in otherworldly yet timeless, design-forward production. We are the curators of idyllic moments in time, life-changing experiences and all around feel-good vibes. Our client’s authentic stories evolve into experiences drawn from the realms of imaginative design and ethereal bliss. Luxury meets laid-back style and disco dance parties happen to be our specialties.

What would you like couples to know about Moon Realm?

We specialize in high-end, unique events and timeless designs. While we are currently a design-forward planning company, we built our business from the ground up — which is not an easy thing to do!

After working for several years in entertainment and hospitality management, I started coordinating weddings in 2016 working in-house at a venue in Los Angeles. From there, I quickly fell into specializing in non-traditional weddings and developed a passion for design.

Additionally, my partner and I founded Supermoon DJs in 2018 - through managing that business, we have a unique perspective seeing a lot of different weddings and we have incorporated the best practices into our workflow over the years. While I’ve been in the business for a while and I’m primarily self-taught, I’m constantly developing as a professional through online education courses.

Over the years, we’ve built a reputation in the wedding industry for being easy to work with and running smooth events, and our designs carry our signature style.

What I love about planning and designing weddings is curating the energy of an event and creating good vibes. Let’s all live together on Cloud 9 for a moment — that is the concept of Moon Realm.

Where are you based?

Landers, California - near Joshua Tree and Palm Springs, and two hours away from Los Angeles.

We moved to our desert house after living in Los Angeles for a decade. Our surroundings are very special and carry a unique signature energy. Our neighborhood includes the alien landmark The Integratron, as well as Rock Corral, a historic place for cowboys to water down horses and cattle.

After living in cities for my entire life, I enjoy being immersed in the peaceful desert vibes while gathering inspiration from nature and gazing at the stars. Our local desert community is full of amazing creative entrepreneurs, encouraging freedom and creativity.

Do you travel for weddings?

Yes, we typically take on 1-2 destination weddings per year. Most recently, we planned a wedding in Moab, Utah. It was such a breathtaking experience to be amongst the red rock formations and unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. While we enjoy working locally and staying grounded, it always feels so exciting to design amongst new surroundings and energies.

How would you describe your style?

Otherworldly timeless meets refined whimsy.

Our style is heavily impacted by the venue/surroundings and we love incorporating the couple’s authentic personalities into the design. Our unique themes and elements are thoughtfully intentional, not so outrageous that you’ll regret your wedding photos later. Timeless with fun elements.

A lot of our clients come to us with a strong existing vibe. For example: psychedelic cowboy disco, and that authentically represents their personalities! We also love working with clients who simply love our aesthetic and provide us the creative freedom to create something truly special for them. Occasionally, I will work with a couple who have opposite styles and it can be a fun challenge to mesh their vibes to create something truly one-of-a-kind that represents who they are as a whole.

Our style ranges from modern minimalist art gallery vibes, to colorful funk disco and everything in between. Couples come to Moon Realm because they love our style and trust us to artfully infuse our aesthetic with their vision. We focus on balance, and everything is intentionally planned and designed. While we are detail-oriented, keep in mind that some of the best photos are edgy and unexpected, and we encourage embracing that as an anti-bride!

What is your most memorable career moment?

I will never forget the first time a wedding guest said to me, “this is the best wedding I’ve ever been to!...And I’ve been to a lot of weddings.” This was incredibly memorable because it was one of the first weddings I had planned from start to finish! After personally curating over a hundred events, we’ve heard it many times since but it never gets old. It feels amazing to have such a positive impact not only on the couple, but with guest experience as well.

What inspires you?

I’m often inspired by the location, venue, and the couple’s energy. I’m the type of person who absorbs energy and surroundings, so I’ll find inspiration anywhere and everywhere. I love antiquing and searching for unique patterns and objects to incorporate into our event design. I also enjoy brainstorming while stargazing, inspiring our otherworldly designs.

What motivates you to do what you do?

We are motivated by love! We believe that positive energy is magnetic. We’re all about creating beautiful realms, enhancing those feelings of celebration and joy, and bringing in good energy into the world.

How would you describe your working style?

We love to work in a collaborative direction, and always adapt based on the personality and needs of each individual client. As for my day to day, I typically work on admin tasks in the morning and design in the afternoons. I’ve found that this allows me to fully lean into my creative energy for the rest of the day, with no time limit on creating ideas that are innovative yet true to Moon Realm. I’m also constantly striving for efficiency as I’m highly creative and very results-oriented.

What is your advice to couples getting married?

Practice self care, enjoy the planning process and place trust in your vendors. This is a very special moment in your life. While understanding that it is a significant financial and emotional investment so nervousness is perfectly normal, focus on the energy of the moment. Walk into your wedding with a positive mindset and enjoy your special day! That energy is magnetic and will radiate throughout the rest of the event!
