Tell us a little about yourselves!

Dom and I started dating when we were 15 and 16 years old, and we’ve been pretty much inseparable ever since. Over the years, we’ve grown up together and supported each other through many different chapters of life.

Dom currently works as a groundskeeper at a high-end golf course, after previously building a successful career as a photographer and videographer. I work in a primary school, supporting students with additional needs, after spending several years running a vintage fashion resale business.

These days, we live happily together with our rescued 6yo Jack Russell, Blue, who we love to call our first born.

Why did you decide to get married where you did?

We’re both very laid-back, low-key people, so it was important that our wedding felt authentic to who we are. The marriage registry was the perfect fit for us, and following it with an intimate celebration at a pub felt natural and relaxed.

We never felt any pressure to make the day look a certain way or follow traditions that didn’t resonate with us. Instead, we focused on creating a day that felt comfortable and meaningful, and everything seemed to fall into place from there. We were happy to go with the flow and enjoy every moment as it came.

How many guests did you have?

At our ceremony we had 35 close family members, at our reception we had around 70.

What was your budget?

$20k(ish)

Tell us about your outfits.

I had no idea what I wanted to wear, so I decided to visit Grace Loves Lace and just happened to fall in love with the very first dress I tried on. I chose not to overthink it and went with my gut. I usually take a long time to make big purchases, but I’ve never regretted that I made that decision so quickly.

Dom’s suit was a very similar story. We knew we wanted a double-breasted suit, and he happened to fall in love with the first one he tried on. It seemed like a further sign that one of Dom’s wedding song choices played as he was trying it. Sometimes the right choice just makes itself.

What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?

Photography, without a doubt. With Dom’s background as a photographer, it was incredibly important to us to find someone whose style and vision aligned with our own. We wanted our day to be captured naturally and authentically, and as soon as we found O’Lemonade, we knew they were the perfect fit.

Dom actually found O’lemonade through the Anti Bride, and fell in love with their analog aesthetic and their organic fly on the wall documentary style.

Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?

Family was the most important element for us to incorporate. We’re incredibly lucky to have two amazing families who have been such a significant part of our 11-year relationship. We really grew up together, and our families were there to support us through every stage of it.

Having them involved in our wedding day felt incredibly meaningful. We all stayed together the night before, Dom’s parents played their instruments during some of the day’s most special moments, and our siblings stood by our side throughout it all. It made the celebration feel even more personal and memorable.

Any tips for couples getting married?

Surround yourselves with people who lift you up, support you, and genuinely want the best for you. It’s easy to get caught up in expectations and opinions, but at the end of the day, your wedding should reflect who you are as a couple.

Do what feels right for you, trust your instincts, and focus on what matters most. Once you do that, the rest has a way of falling into place.
