Tell us a little about yourselves!
We are both from Tahiti, we met 15 years ago in Paris. We had a little love story back then for a week, that never really went on because we were both living in different cities, but we always kept in contact throughout all these years. I was living in LA and he was living in Paris. And 7 years ago when we both found each other again in Tahiti, spent the Covid lockdown together and then never left each other sight ever again. this is the very short version of our love story which has so many more fun little details. Life just always knew how to put us on each others path at the best moment.
Why did you decide to get married where you did?
We fell in love with Menorca a few years ago, there’s something truly magical about the island. It’s also the perfect size: compact enough for guests to arrive and immediately feel at ease and not have to drive hours to get to places. We wanted the weekend to feel special, and sharing this charming island with the people we love was a highlight in itself. The idea was simple — guests could wake up, swim at a cala, wander the town in the morning, then join us for the festivities in the afternoon. It wasn’t just a wedding; it was a little vacation for everyone. Menorca made that effortless, and three days felt exactly right.
How many guests did you have?
100 guests. Which was the perfect amount to keep it intimate but still felt like a crowd.
What was your budget?
Enough to make it memorable!
Tell us about your outfits.
I tried on a bunch of dresses in Paris in January - wedding was in June, but nothing really excited me. And at the end of the week in Paris I still didn’t find anything. To give a bit of context, we live in Tahiti and there is not much choice there, at all. So I was a bit stressed. Thankfully one of my best friend living in Paris came up with an idea to go see that designer she knew. And the day before I left Paris we went to go see the designer of À la robe, Elizabeth Soljak, in her Parisian showroom. When I tried on the dress, I immediately knew it was the one. It had this vintage feel, I was looking for. All made out of pure silk with beautiful embroidery. For the party time I went with an all sequins slip dress from Rat and Boa, and bought this amazing ostrich feather boa to elevate the outfit, and make it way more fun. For the after party the day after, we had a Slim Aarons themed party and I had this Custom outfit made in Paris.
What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?
Good communication because we planned everything from afar. Creativity to be able to translate our ideas into something more concrete.
Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?
We wanted the last day to be a blast, so we decided to throw a Slim Aarons themed party at the villa where we and all our closest friends where staying. It was the perfect way to give everyone a second chance to dress up and have fun and honestly, it felt like a much better send-off than the typical dreaded Sunday brunch after a night of partying. Theres something about dressing up that brings out the best energy.
Any tips for couples getting married?
Choose your wedding planner wisely. Get the videographer on top of the photographer. In our case we were so lucky to have Samuel Turell who managed both like a boss! You’ll be so happy to have videos. Do all the crazy things you dream of because it only happens once. Do the emotional speech, put on the crazy after party outfit, dance on tables, because once it’s over it’s overrrr haha you’ll never have these moments again where people are here to celebrate your love and only that.
Are there any vendors that you would like to tell us a little more about?
Samuel the photographer went above and beyond to capture everything in the most fun but efficient way bringing multitasking to another level and he also made everyone feel at ease with him. By the end we wanted him to stay and party with us! You can find his work at Your Alternative Wedding.
