Tell us a little about yourselves!

I'm Léa, a wedding planner and designer living in Paris where I created La Fileuse d’Orties and my husband works in finance. Ben and I have known each  other since high school. He's my best friend.

We are having our main wedding celebration in October in Tuscany: we had our civil wedding in France beforehand at the end of March. Paris was an obvious choice to us, being the city of love and the one we’ve been living in for several years now.

It was crucial to us to offer our guests a different format to the one they will have in Italy, so we invited them to celebrate our 30th birthdays, with the lovely surprise of getting married in the Marais the morning of the party!

To fulfil our irrepressible desire for Italy, we asked our guests to bring masks to the event as a nod to Venice...

Why did you decide to get married where you did?

We had a wonderful date at Maison Revka during the Olympics last summer: the decor is burlesque and charming with a warm atmosphere where it feels like 19th century Russia. The cocktails and the food are incredible as well which sounded to us as the perfect mix to celebrate our the first part of our wedding!

How many guests did you have?

We limited ourselves to a very small group of 45 people.

What was your budget?

We spent about 20,000 euros.

Tell us about your outfits.

Ben and I are crazy about fashion: we spent a lot of time thinking about our looks!  We found Ben’s shirt in New York and both my dress and his suit in Paris. My veil comes from London while I found my shoes in Lake Como.

For that evening, I wanted to have stars in my eyes and Ben would play a modern clown.

What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?

I'm a wedding planner. Absolutely every part is important!

Special shoutout to my friend Maélys Izzo, who photographed our wedding. This girl can do it all: chat with our guests, wear a bunny mask, and capture stunning images!

Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?

We really went out of our way to welcome our guests. We tasted the wines, the cocktails, and tailored the menu to every single bite that was offered that night. We even gave a lot of thought about the icing on the cake and the cake itself given we're not fans of wedding cakes: so we opted for Cyril Lignac’s famous marshmallow teddy bear cake, which we had delivered to the restaurant. Our guests loved it!

Any tips for couples getting married?

Just one: hire a wedding planner!

Are there any vendors that you would like to tell us a little more about?

Honestly, we were particularly pleased with the team that assisted us. Charline Hair & Makeup, my hairstylist, went above and beyond to find me extensions. Romain from Studio Maison Ciero,my florist, created two magnificent "Bouquets Bijoux" that perfectly matched my look! The Maison Revka team was fantastic, extremely professional, and kind to our guests. I recommend them to everyone.
