Tell us a little about yourselves!

Jake and I grew up in a small town in West Texas called Cisco. I moved next door to his grandmother in fifth grade, and by eighth grade (at just 13 years old) we were dating. We quite literally grew up together, moving side by side through middle school, high school, and college. After Jake graduated, we got engaged, spent two years in Minneapolis, and eventually settled in Tulsa, Oklahoma. After 11 years together, we’re still best friends and always will be. We love reading, movie nights, thrifting, traveling to new places, and spending time with our 10-year-old Chihuahua, Gracie.

Why did you decide to get married where you did?

While Jake was working in Minnesota, I was visiting home in April 2024 and decided to tour The Mason with my mom and my future sister-in-law. After months of admiring the beautiful weddings hosted there, seeing the venue in person sealed the deal. From the location and design to the thoughtful amenities and attentive owners, it felt like the perfect place to bring our vision to life.

How many guests did you have?

100 of our nearest and dearest.

What was your budget?

We started out with a medium budget but ultimately spent around $10K over our initial goal to make sure all of the details were exactly as we wanted.

Tell us about your outfits.

From the start, I had a clear sense of the aesthetic I wanted. Danielle Frankel gowns feel like wearable art, and I knew I needed to experience them in person. At one of my first appointments, I tried on the Camille dress, and the reaction was immediate. It was effortless, emotional, and undeniably the one. With each fitting, my excitement grew as the vision for our day became more defined.

Later, my mom, sister, and I traveled to New York City in search of wedding shoes and a reception look. I was instantly taken by the incredible archival and vintage collection at Studio Dorothy, tucked inside the most charming, nostalgia-filled sixties apartment. It felt like playing dress-up with friends. I chose a delicate slip with velvet cherry blossom detailing and a scarf that was sourced from London, with an unknown label, and believed to date back to the early 2000s.

Jake wore a classic black tuxedo from SuitSupply that complemented my dress and our aesthetic perfectly.

What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?

Above all else, we focused on the guest experience. We wanted our friends and family to feel celebrated, immersed, and genuinely present by sharing a night they’d remember just as fondly as we would.

Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?

A family-style reception was one of our top priorities. Long, connected tables created an atmosphere that felt intimate and communal. More like a family dinner than a formal reception. Cocktail hour was equally important, giving us the chance to immediately connect with our guests and spend meaningful time with each one.

Any tips for couples getting married?

Give yourselves the time you need. We didn’t rush the process, and that intention allowed every decision to feel thoughtful and true to us.

Are there any vendors that you would like to tell us a little more about?

Every vendor played an important role, but Farhan, our wedding planner from Wedding Erah, truly brought everything together. From start to finish, he translated our vision into reality and ensured the day unfolded seamlessly. We couldn’t recommend him more highly.
