Real Wedding | Samantha + Joe

Tell us a little about yourselves!

Joe has taken over his family lumber business, has a passion for watch collecting and horseback riding paying homage to his Mexican culture. Samantha is a full-time content creator with a fashion marketing  background and a strong passion for fashion design.

Why did you decide to get married where you did?

We were born and raised in Chicago and were getting married in Mexico, so we wanted to do something small and intimate for our closest family locally. The courthouse ended up being booked on the day we wanted so we decided it would be even better to get an officiant and do our vows right where we got engaged, along the Chicago River, which also was only a few blocks away from the Chicago courthouse.

How many guests did you have?

8.

Tell us about your outfits.

I wanted to wear sophisticated sleek suit to complement Joe. I added the lace detailed veil to tie everything in, and added a few extra accessories from the pearl Vivienne Westwood choker to end it with the Chanel handbag. Joe wore Suit Supply, and Prada shoes.

What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning  your wedding?

This was meant to be intimate, and we really wanted to take in every moment and celebrate our love with the ones we love.

Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?

The most important element was to have our closest family there to witness this moment. That is all we cared about.

Any tips for couples getting married?

When planning a wedding, baby steps, make a decision and keep it moving, do not overthink it. Things will go wrong no matter what, and it won’t even matter. Do not put too much stress into it, and most importantly celebrate everything! Do not feel bad for celebrating your love and this moment in your life, it only happens once so do it all! Do not worry about anyone but the two of you!

Are there any vendors that you would like to tell us a little more about?

This day was the most perfect day we have ever had. Our favorite restaurant is RL Restaurant, Chicago and bringing our family there for lunch afterwards was also a memory I will cherish. After we finished, we did a staycation at Nobu and continued to celebrate just the two of us, and ended the night at a very special Michelin star restaurant, Oriole. A day I will never forget.
