We met on an escalator 5 years ago and the rest is history.
Why did you decide to get married where you did?
We got married at a Georgian style manor with lovely grounds called Graydon Hall Manor. We hoped for an outdoor ceremony and the weather gods spared us with a balmy, budding spring day.

Tell us about your outfits.
Roya worked with Matthew Gallagher of House of Gallagher to create a custom silk gown complete with veil and gloves. Roya opted out of conventional white and chose a pink tone (somewhere in between blush and baby) that sparked joy.
Mani entered the Gucci store intending just to peruse and came out with his entire look. The wide lapel, double breasted jacket and silk bow tie brought the retro theme to life. We wanted to channel an era that spoke to us culturally, musically, aesthetically and that was the 70s.
The ‘Sofreh Aghd’ was really important to us - it is a several thousand year old Persian tradition. The couple is seated at a ceremonial table adorned with items like fruits and candies to symbolize a sweet union and candelabras to symbolize clarity and energy in the couple’s life together. Poetry is recited and the bride and groom feed one another honey.
Any tips for couples getting married?
Don’t sweat the small stuff, and enjoy your wedding day. Inevitably something will not go as planned. Not to worry, no one will notice!
