Why did you decide to get married where you did?
For us it is undoubtedly the most beautiful finca in Madrid. Finca Los Cuadros is the only one we visited. In addition, the food there from La Blonda Catering is unbeatable. It was a no brainer!
We chose the Basilica de la Concepción de Nuestra Señora church because Lucas's mother always wanted to get married there.
How many guests did you have?
We had 217 guests.
Tell us about your outfits
I was the first bride to visit Alejandra Oria. By chance I ended up on her website and I felt very identified with her designs and with her. I went with my mother to meet her and we immediately understood each other. I didn't want to look dressed up, I wanted to be me, with something simple but at the same time special. Without a doubt she did it.
Lucas has great taste in clothes and went to his fittings unaccompanied. He had a clear idea of what he wanted and without a doubt it was 100% him. Classic but modern. He also wore a Breitling watch from his late Grandfather which was really special, as he unfortunately passed away during the pandemic.
What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?
We postponed the wedding 3 times because of the pandemic. It's not that we didn't want to get married however, we were already living together and it was clear to us that the wedding had to represent us. Both of us are very fun-loving and love to spend time with our loved ones. That was clear to both of us from the beginning. Also, we both love to eat! We love to eat and dine out and discover new restaurants (that's why the stationery on the tables were the names of our favourite restaurants). We wanted people to leave with good memories of the food.
In addition, we had to have a DJ to liven up the whole party so that people couldn't stop jumping and dancing.
To be honest, apart from the venue, the church and my wedding dress, I decided and booked everything else less than a month in advance - even our photographer Olea Photo!
Lucas' uncle also lent us his open top car to go from the church to the venue. I don't know at what point I decided to do it in a convertible car, I arrived at the place with my hair full of knots. But, have you seen the pictures of the journey? I would do it again!
Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?
The most important thing was that all our family and friends could join us. We also thought it was important to give the bridal bouquet to our mothers and gift additional bouquets from Aquilea Flores to our grandmothers as well as Lucia's three best friends and Lucas' cousin.
Any tips for couples getting married, particularly during the pandemic?
People will talk whether you decide to postpone your wedding or not! In the end, the important thing is that each couple is confident and happy with their decision. Looking back, I'm sure we made the best choice.
As I said before, we are pretty relaxed and left everything to the last minute. Even so, things worked out perfectly as we just kept a positive attitude!
