Real Wedding | Claudia + Carlos

Tell us a little about yourselves!

We work together however, we met because of two mutual friends!

Why did you decide to get married where you did?

Carlos asked me to marry him in Paris at night - with the Eiffel Tower as backdrop. We got engaged one year after we started dating.

How many guests did you have?

Initially we planned to have almost 150! However, with the changing regulations due to the pandemic, we had 100.

Tell us about your outfits!

Carlos: I had my suit made by Massimo Dutti Atelier. The suit was a deep blue and made to measure. I matched it with a white cotton shirt and black leather shoes. My entire outfit was from Massimo Dutti. Claudia: I designed my dress. I wanted something special and something that was one of a kind. Dressmaker Pilar Couto understood my idea from our very first consultation. I loved the result! I chose a satin silk in off-white colour. I knew from the beginning that I wanted some volume and a v-neck. We added covered buttons on the back as well as a train, and some gathering for more texture.

I wore pink By Far sandals with almost no heel so that I would be comfortable and enjoy the entire day. I chose them in pink because I loved the contrast with the vintage YSL emerald earrings that I wore on the day. I wanted to give a touch of colour to my look. I used the same colour accents in my wedding bouquet. Florist Riola Studio added pinks and green to a white base.

What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?

We wanted to enjoy the process, so we made a lot of things by ourselves. For the invitations we used an artisan cotton paper in dusty pink. They were beautifully minimal. On the front we used different dried flowers (which we dried ourselves at home). On the back, we simply stamped the details in black.

We also enjoyed collecting some vintage ceramic pieces to decorate the tables. Carlos and I prepared the bouquets for the tables by ourselves. We wanted to participate in the wedding planning process as much as possible.

Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?

Our venue Palacio de Meres was breathtaking, so we don’t need to add a lot. We keep styling minimal and placed some flowers and candles on the tables as well as lights around the trees.

We chose wooden tables and bamboo chairs which seemed to blend beautifully with the surroundings, which we loved.

It was important for us to have music, particularly when the guests enjoyed cocktails, so we hired a live jazz band Dia D Jazz and a DJ for later in the evening.

Are there any vendors that you would like to tell us a little more about?

We are so happy with all the vendors who helped us on our wedding day. All of them were amazing and did their job so well. We hadn’t have to worry about a thing and everything was meticulously! However, we do have to mention our photographer Nousnous Photography . We have known each other for some years. We didn’t want to worry about the photos. We just wanted to enjoy the day with our favourite people. Carlos was wonderful, caught each moment - so naturally. The result was everything we wanted and the pictures reflect our feelings on our wedding day just perfectly!

Any tips for couples getting married, particularly during the pandemic?

We were planning on getting married last year, however due to the pandemic we decided to postpone. We decided to celebrate outside once we rescheduled, which made adhering to restrictions much easier!

In the end it was such an emotional day with all our family and friends - to be honest we really forgot about the pandemic on our wedding day. We just wanted to enjoy the moment!
