Los Ébano are based between Baja, Mexico and California and are available for weddings worldwide.
Tell us about your business!
We are José and Karla, the creative duo behind Los Ébano! We met in Architecture School and have been a team, best friends and a couple ever since. We founded Los Ébano over a decade ago inspired by the realness, the magic and the adventure weddings can offer. It only took one destination wedding photo we came across with at the end of senior year to get captivated by all of it. Over the years, Los Ébano has been the outlet of our creativity and our cravings of seeing and exploring the world, composing through stunning locations, stunning people, light, movement, emotions and we are so incredibly grateful we get to preserve these memories for our beautiful couples.We specialize in editorial content and creative direction as we make sure to bring our eye as designers into every single frame. We believe that memories should be captured as works of art that celebrate love, life and reflect the uniqueness of each couple.
What would you like couples to know about you?
That we love to explore our artistry and creativity, we value meaning and intention behind all things and we keep things simple, as we believe simple is the highest form of elegance. We also care deeply about details.

We go between Cabo, México and California.
Do you travel for weddings?
Yes! Traveling inspires us and is our catalyst for creativity.
How would you describe your style?
Editorial and minimalistic, yet warm and organic.
What is your most memorable career moment?
When we booked our first destination wedding! The high of shooting a wedding weekend in place you are seeing for the first time is truly magical. The wedding venue was a villa with an insane top ocean view and by the time we were doing the first look it started raining. We kept our spirits high and went for the master bedroom with large, beautiful floor-to-ceiling windows. It was all silent with soft natural light, so intimate and cozy. We all cried and it still remains one of our favorite memories ever.
What inspires you?
Life itself: great stories, people, nature, change, emotions, connection, other forms of art.
What motivates you to do what you do?
We love weddings that feel like an extension of the couple and successfully translate their personalities into all of those little details. We love traveling to new places, good design, warm and real moments, connection.
How would you describe your working style?
We are very down-to-earth kind of people and keep things light and comfortable, but still transparent and honest in our communication in order to make the magic happen. We are always aiming for the best while keeping the integrity of moments, but overall, it’s about having the visions aligned with our couples, having fun, exploring together and creating something timeless and meaningful.
Do you shoot digitally, on film or both?
Mainly digital, but we do love to shoot in both.
Do you have custom packages according to individual needs?
We offer designed packages with add-on options.
What is a favourite product or service that you offer and why?
Styling and creative direction. We love taking advantage of the beautiful elements couples choose or are part of their story and reinterpret it into unique and elevated shots that reflect them.
Where would you love to travel for work?
Japan and Europe.
Who is your dream client?
There’s nothing like an authentic and creative couple that aims to giving their loved ones a unique experience. A couple that appreciates life, art and good design. That loves traveling, and that is present and intentional.
What is your advice to couples getting married?
Stay true to yourselves! There’s no right or wrong way to do it, just your own. Be open, creative, joyful, have fun, and gather up a dream team that you fully trust.
