Tell us about your business!

I’ve been photographing for over ten years now and can honestly say that I still love what I do,

which I think is quite an important trait to have in this industry; to adore wedding days, what they

represent and know just how special they are. It’s not lost on me that I’m trusted with preserving

these moments in time for future generations to cherish and I don’t take that responsibly lightly. I

also draw from my experience in capturing fashion + street style and have fun expressing my

creativity though the lens.

What would you like couples to know about you?

That they won’t only just have beautiful images of their day, but they’ll have a genuinely joyful

recollection of spending that time together. Photographers set the tone on the day and are with you

for some of the most raw and emotional moments in your life so far. You spend a lot of your

wedding day with your photographer, so it’s important that you get along well and enjoy their

company. I’ve had some of my past couples say that it’s like they’ve known me forever, like an old

friend, which is one of the most beautiful compliments I can ever hope for.

Do you travel for weddings?

I certainly do! Though I’m based in Brisbane, Australia, I’m lucky enough to have captured

weddings all over the country and globally. I will go wherever you’d like to have me!

How would you describe your style?

I believe the new term is “loose editorial” which I interpret as classic story telling with an editorial

feel. At the core of my work, it’s quite timeless and very much a reflection of how the day played

out, but I love to lean into a more artistic vision and have fun with my couples stylistically. Someone

recently said to me how they can feel how the day was just by looking at my images which is such a

wonderful compliment. Then in post-processing, I keep my colour grading true to tone, yet elevated

and polished. I pride myself on curation and deliver a beautifully cohesive and generous final

gallery.

How would you describe your working style?

I’ve been told I bring a very calming presence on a wedding day, which in turn makes my couples

feel relaxed and at ease. Though I can also command a crowd and go into full leader mode if I need

to! I pride myself on being able to read a room as it’s very much a balance of knowing when to step

in, or step out. I’m quite detail orientated and notice the small moments just as much as the big

ones. “How on earth did you even see that happening!?” Then when it’s time for portraits with just

the couple, I will give gentle guidance where needed to make it as enjoyable as possible. I’ve even

had photo-hating grooms tell me it was one of their favourite parts of the day, so I’ll definitely take

that win.

Do you shoot digitally, on film or both?

I shoot both! The entire day is shot digitally, but with complimentary moments captured on film

throughout the day. All my packages now have film included.

What is a favourite product or service that you offer and why?

I have to say pre-wedding couple portrait sessions are just so much fun and strengthen the

connection we have together, as well as allow couples to feel more at ease come the wedding day.

It’s also lovely to have imagery of an exciting period of time together, and these sessions can be as

relaxed or as stylised as the couple would like!

Where would you love to travel to for work?

I’ve been lucky enough to travel all through Europe capturing weddings these past few summers,

but the South of France truly has my heart. I would love to capture a celebration there in an old

chateau. Or take it to the coast and have a chic hotel celebration in the French Riveria? Sign me up

either way!

Who is your dream client?

A couple who is confident in their own style, are fashion conscious, and aren’t afraid to do things a little bit different. Some of my favourite wedding days have been those where you can see just how much personality has been woven into the day and it feels so genuine and completely them.

What is your advice to couples getting married?

My favourite saying to tell my couples is, “your day, your way.” Don’t let outside opinions or

traditions dictate how you want your day to be. It’s about celebrating you both, so don’t lose sight of

that amongst the chaos of planning.
