Maura Davidson Photography is based in Athens, Georgia and often captures weddings on the US East Coast. She loves providing a stress-free and lovely wedding day experience to all her couples. Family is everything, and she loves capturing all types of relationships on a wedding day. Maura Davidson Photography's dream clients hold a notable vision but allow the day to unfold naturally, focusing on what matters most and letting go of the rest. 

Tell us about your business! 

Established in 2015, my business began from a love of capturing portraits and nature. I have had a camera  in hand for as long as I can remember, always being encouraged to create. My great grandfather was a  talented film photographer, writer and painter who left a deep impression on me from a young age. It was  never a question of if I would be an artist, but of which medium would I decide to pursue.  

For me, wedding photography is not only a path to create beautiful art, but an opportunity to serve others  well and give the gift of memories. My work celebrates love, capturing wedding days in a holistic way;  inspired by locations, stories, details, and design elements.

What would you like couples to know about you? 

I would love couples to know that I am genuinely so honored every time I am chosen to photograph a  wedding celebration. I show up joyful, excited, and caring. I believe providing a lovely in-person experience  is just as important as the deliverables. I am passionate, detail oriented, grounding and encouraging.  

Celebration feels woven into my purpose. You can find me hosting dinner for our family or friends with  fresh bread and candles lit - something that brings me so much joy and tethers my heart to wedding  receptions (fabulous dinner parties).

Where are you based? 

I am based in the southeast, calling Athens, Georgia home. I practice a relatively slow paced life and love to  spend my mornings in the garden with my dogs. Pruning roses is the best therapy.

Do you travel for weddings? 

I do! Up and down the East Coast is where you will typically find me, but I have a fondness for shooting in  California that will never fade. Bring me where your heart is and we will create magic.

How would you describe your style? 

My style is a mix of documentary, traditional, editorial, and fine art. My strengths include dreamy  portraiture, storytelling of the in-between and capturing the authentic feeling of receptions.

What inspires you? 

Sunsets, grandparents, 90’s rom coms, old film scans, walking by the water, architecture, texture, soft warm  light, florals, and my own love story.

How would you describe your working style? 

I am a calming and steady presence with the fun energy to ignite magical moments with my subjects. Not  only for my couples, but their families, closest friends and dearest wedding guests.

Do you shoot digitally, on film or both? 

I shoot digital, 120mm and 35mm film.

Do you have custom packages according to individual needs? 

Yes! All of my collections are customizable, based on the couple and their wedding day dreams. I always  want to provide a personal experience, from initial inquiry to final delivery (and beyond).

Who is your dream client? 

My dream clients are easygoing, madly in love, and family oriented. They have an eye for design and a  strong sense of personal style. They hold a notable vision but allow the day to unfold naturally, focusing on  what matters most and letting go of the rest.They enjoy tradition but insist on only using elements that feel  like “them” on their wedding day. The details matter, but they care just as much about the life they are creating together.
