Martina Boggian is a Rome-based photographer with over a decade of experience in the wedding industry. She works with digital formats as well as 35mm and Super 8 film and aims to tell stories that still feel alive decades from now. Martina Boggian cares deeply for her couples and approaches every wedding with empathy, calmness, and intention. She specialises in weddings around the globe, with destinations such as Japan, Mexico, Greece, and Vietnam on her bucket list.

Tell us about your business!

Hi, I'm Martina. For me, photography is a way to feel life intensely. It's a way to slow down, to stay present, and to preserve the emotions that often pass by too quickly.

Since 2021, I've been traveling across Europe documenting weddings and love stories with a blend of documentary honesty and editorial elegance. My goal is never just to create beautiful images, but to tell stories that still feel alive decades from now.

I believe the most meaningful photographs are the ones that make you remember not only how everything looked, but how it felt.

What would you like couples to know about you?

I want my couples to know that choosing me means choosing someone who genuinely cares about their story.

I'm a very sensitive person, and I approach every wedding with empathy, calmness, and intention. I don't believe in forcing moments or creating emotions that aren't there. Instead, I quietly observe, gently guide when needed, and let the day unfold naturally.

By the end of the wedding, I hope my couples feel like they've spent the day with a friend rather than just their photographer.

Where are you based?

Rome, Italy, but I'm available worldwide.

Do you travel for weddings?

Absolutely. Destination weddings are a huge part of my work, and I love discovering new places through the stories of the people I photograph. Whether it's a Tuscan villa, a château in France, or a quiet beach in Greece, I'm always happy to travel. This year I’ve been to Guatemala and it has been amazing.

How would you describe your style?

I'd describe my style as documentary with an editorial soul.

Natural, timeless and emotional, with a strong focus on light, composition and genuine human connection. I love creating photographs that feel simply you. I like the connection between photos and my couples.

What is your most memorable career moment?

Every wedding leaves something with me, but seeing my work published internationally and receiving messages from couples years later telling me that their photographs have become family heirlooms is something I'll never take for granted.

Knowing that my work becomes part of someone's legacy is the greatest reward.

What inspires you?

I'm deeply inspired by architecture, especially since moving to Rome. Walking through the city, observing its light, textures, and timeless beauty has changed the way I see composition and storytelling.

I'm also constantly inspired by the work of documentary photographers I admire, like Vivian Maier and Robert Doisneau. I love the way they found extraordinary beauty in ordinary moments, capturing real life with honesty, sensitivity, and emotion.

How would you describe your working style?

Calm, discreet and intentional.

I'm present when you need me and invisible when you don't. Throughout the day I document everything naturally, stepping in only when a little guidance helps you feel more comfortable or when creating portraits.

My goal is for you to fully experience your wedding, not spend it posing for photos.

Do you shoot digitally, on film or both?

Both.

Digital allows me to capture every fleeting moment with precision, while film adds a timeless, nostalgic feeling that perfectly complements my aesthetic. I love combining both to create galleries with depth, texture and emotion.

Do you have custom packages according to individual needs?

Yes.

Every wedding is different, so I always try to create a proposal that reflects each couple's plans and priorities. Whether it's an intimate elopement or a multi-day destination celebration, I'm happy to tailor the experience.

What is a favourite product or service that you offer and why?

Film photography.

There's something incredibly special about slowing down and intentionally creating each frame. Film has a softness and honesty that's impossible to replicate digitally, and I love how seamlessly it blends into the final gallery.

Where would you love to travel to for work?

Japan has always been at the top of my list, a romantic with a trendy vibe elopement in a ryokan is something that I’m still dreaming of.

I'd also love to photograph weddings in Mexico, Greece, Vietnam.

Who is your dream client?

Someone who values experiences over perfection.

Couples who are deeply in love, appreciate aesthetics but care even more about meaningful moments, and trust me enough to simply be themselves.

The best photographs always come from genuine connection.

What is your advice to couples getting married?

Be present.

The day will go by faster than you imagine, and the little imperfections are often the moments you'll treasure the most.

Spend time together, hold hands often, hug your loved ones, laugh loudly, and don't worry about everything being perfect. Your wedding isn't a photoshoot—it's one of the most meaningful days of your life.

If you're truly living it, the photographs will naturally become beautiful.
