Tell us about In The Mood For Love!
Hola, we are Jaz and Alejandro, a creative duo and couple based in Adelaide, Australia. As wedding photographers and videographers, we specialise in documenting the unique love of couples on their wedding day.We bring an elevated appreciation for artistry, quality, and meaningful connections to our work.
What would you like couples to know about you?
The name comes from a film I have carried with me for over twenty years, for its timeless beauty. We're not chasing a look so much as a feeling that couples will come back to decades from now and still recognise themselves in.
Where are you based?
Adelaide, in Southern Australia.
Do you travel for weddings?
Yes, we actually met while travelling, so it's part of how we're wired. We're always open to weddings further afield, particularly across the northern hemisphere through spring and summer.
How would you describe your style?
A mix of documentary and editorial. We let real moments unfold on their own, then set aside time for a few photos that are more intentional - considering the light, composition, and small details that might not happen by accident.
What is your most memorable career moment?
I used to think it would be something like a magazine feature, or landing on the right platform. And when a few of those things did happen, they didn't hit me with that ‘memorable career moment’ feeling I expected. What's actually hit me is far simpler. It is really taking in that an awesome couple has chosen me for their wedding day, stepping into their inner circle for all of it, and having everyone so comfortable with me and putting their full trust in me. That's what felt like my most memorable career moment.
What inspires you?
The couples themselves, how they are with each other, and with the people they've gathered around them. Outside of that, we find ourselves circling back to films, paintings, and the kind of fashion that doesn't date.
How would you describe your working style?
We try to stay out of the way enough that the day still feels like theirs, just directing couples towards the best light in a way that feels natural and authentic. Except possibly during portrait time - if the couple is up for it, we love getting a bit more editorial, trying out different poses to capture some interesting editorial-style portraits.
Do you shoot digitally, on film or both?
Both.
Do you have custom packages according to individual needs?
Yes, for sure - we’re more than happy to create custom packages.
What is a favourite product or service that you offer and why?
Film photography's my favourite, which is lucky, because it also happens to be one of the most requested add ons. And, it only seems to be getting more popular too.
Where would you love to travel to for work?
I'd love to shoot a wedding in Japan, Hong Kong, or really anywhere across Asia and of course Europe is like a second home. Latin America is on our list too: Alejandro's Chilean, and I spent time in Mexico a while back, so we'd love to capture a wedding somewhere over there.
Who is your dream client?
Couples who value experience and artistry — who travel, appreciate good design, and care about beauty in the details. They're fashion-forward but timeless, and genuinely excited to celebrate with the people who matter most with good food and drinks.
How do you select music for your films?
Our music selection is based greatly on how I feel the couple experienced their day, their feedback during our meetings and the energy that the couple, family and friends bring to the day. And obviously how certain moments drive the story in the film, such as, first look reactions, speeches, dancing, etc… I would say the music selection is the hardest part of creating a film and it can take me hours to choose it, usually changing it midway the editing process if I feel it doesn’t evoke feelings of joy and love.
What is your advice to couples getting married?
Having a great, qualified, experienced planner is usually a pretty good start, though that can depend on the wedding. Either way, trusting in your wedding professionals, delegate as much as you can, and enjoy it. I had a couple say to me once, “we want to enjoy the planning process.” I thought that was such a great attitude! They had a great planner, so they didn't have to think or worry about every little thing, just the parts they wanted to be involved in.
