Tell us about your business!

I never really set out to create a business, so when it became one, I refused to let go of the things that keep it from feeling transactional. I wanted it to grow around genuine friendships, creativity and doing things in a way that felt natural to me, rather than what a wedding photography business was supposed to look like, both behind the scenes and the photos themselves.

What would you like couples to know about you?

That I want to know everything about you. Long before I meet my couples, we’ve usually become pen pals. Messaging, exchanging memes and oversharing. By the wedding, guests often assume I’m a friend. And in a way, by that point I am.

I have a fun-first approach to everything I do because I think life’s too short to be serious. Or take yourself too seriously.

Where are you based?

London, UK.

How would you describe your style?

Playful, intimate, uninhibited. And my mum said I should add, “rather raunchy.”

The way I take photographs, how they look, and the way I am with my couples all run into each other. I go with the flow and pay attention to the details. I read the room, know when to hang back and when to get involved… like if your dress is tucked into your knickers (we’ll get the shot first, though!

A recent bride said, “Thank you for egging me on to be the main character I wanted to be.” That’s exactly it. Your wedding is the one day you should absolutely get to turn up the volume on yourself, even if you’re not usually one for the spotlight. I’m your hype girl through and through.

Do you shoot digitally, on film or both?

Fruitcakes is film only. It’s a bit daring, very nostalgic, and looks and feels so alive I couldn’t do it any other way.

What inspires you?

Genuine people with fab personalities. And pretty, shiny things! I’m a bit of a magpie for patterns, colour and texture, whether in fashion, interiors or a piece of rubbish that happens to be blowing past, perfectly matching the colour scheme. I live for irony and unexpected little connections. They’re the spice of life. Things that have no business looking good together, but somehow do. *Chef’s kiss

Do you travel for weddings?

Absolutely. I travel worldwide for the fruitiest of affairs!

What is your advice to couples getting married?

You’ll get much better photographs from actually having the time of your life than you ever will from trying to create photographs of yourself having the time of your life.

Weddings rarely behave themselves, and often the photos my couples love most only exist because they didn’t.
