Charlotte Macke is a film-led wedding photographer based between London and Paris. With a background in fashion, she works primarily on analogue film alongside digital. Charlotte Macke creates painterly, poetic and quietly dreamlike images that are full of life and energy.

Where are you based?

I am based between Paris and London.

What is your most memorable career moment?

Having one of my weddings featured in Vogue and also photographing Daisy Lowe’s wedding was a real highlight of my career. It was one of the happiest and most beautiful weddings. The energy of the day and the people there made it feel incredibly special.

Do you travel for weddings?

Yes , this year I photographed weddings across Europe and the United States.

Do you shoot digitally, on film or both?

Primarily film, with some digital used alongside it depending on the moment.

Where would you love to travel to for work?

I would love to document a wedding in Japan. It’s one of my favourite countries and a place that has always inspired me.

Who is your dream client?

Couples who value emotion, atmosphere and honest storytelling over perfection, and who have a deep appreciation for film.

What is your advice to couples getting married?

In terms of finding a wedding photographer, ask to see examples from weddings in a similar setting or time of year, so you can understand how they work in different light and situations. And just as importantly, make sure you feel comfortable with them, that connection really matters.

What would you like couples to know about you?

I come from a fashion background, but my heart has always been in film photography. I travel with my camera wherever I go, drawn to capturing people and the quiet connections between them.

How would you describe your working style?

Getting to know my couples beforehand is really important to me , it helps create a natural sense of comfort and trust. I’m lucky that I often get on very well with them, and it can often feel more like being a guest and a friend than just their photographer. I’ve really enjoyed staying in touch with many of them afterwards.

How would you describe your style?

I’m drawn to images that feel untethered to a specific era ,painterly, poetic and a little dreamlike, yet still full of life and energy.
