Tell us about your business!

I have been in photography for 12 years. I tried different types of photography until I found weddings and the connection with people. At home we have always been a family of artists, so I have felt inspired and supported by them since I was a child. Fun fact - I was born and raised in the same small town as Dalí!

It has been 8 years since my first wedding and 5 years with my own  brand, AK Studio Wedding. I think about photography as an adventure. Going where I’ve never been and seeing new things or places is  what motivates me and gives me butterflies!

What would you like couples to know about you/your business?

I love to take care during the process of all the couples who trust me. I am a very detail-oriented person, and I demand a lot from myself when it comes to my work. However, I also have an artistic and open minded side that I let flow in my work.

Where are you based?

I’m based in Barcelona, Spain. Before that, I was living in Andorra for two years and for one year in Mexico too.

Do you travel for weddings?

Yes, of course! Getting to know new cultures is my passion! I've traveled to Tulum, Mexico and Paris/ Provence, France for work. But I've also traveled to Korea, France, Mexico, Morocco, Italy and am currently waiting to add more to a long list in the not so distant future.

I've also had a long distance relationship with my soulmate. So I can perfectly understand and deeply relate to all those couples who might have a culturally mixed relationship or those whose cultures are different than mine. I am looking forward to meeting all of them!

How would you describe your style?

My style is timeless and editorial. I mix all this together with a photojournalism style, because I believe that the stolen moments are what authentically and faithfully represent what your big day was from an  outsider's point of view.. For me it’s not just about one style; every wedding and couple is different and I view everything like details, the getting ready, the food, the couple shoot etc as unique and unrepeatable. I aim to capture these moments as such and make them shine as never before.

As for me, the most important thing it’s about connection. I love to know each and every couple I photograph, and represent each of their unique emotions through my camera.

What is your most memorable career moment?

The moment that I was accepted to be part of the vendors at The Anti-Bride, and a wedding that I captured in Tulum, Mexico. It was one of the craziest and biggest weddings I have ever done in my photography career.

What inspires you?

I believe that inspiration is everywhere. You just have to open your eyes and observe. I´m a very sensitive person, so I love to channel my artistic and crazy side to create amazing and special memories.

What motivates you to do what you do?

Because I think it’s the best way to keep memories. Expressing myself with photography is a gift, so I want to make good memories for others too. And also because photography for me is not just about seeing, it’s about feeling.

How would you describe your working style?

I work by connecting with people and bringing out the best in them. I break the ice so they can feel comfortable being themselves.

Do you shoot digitally, on film or both?

Both! Until now I did film as a hobby for me, documenting in a poetic and timeless way my day to day life, but now it’s part of my pricing packages as an option.

Do you have custom packages according to individual needs?

I have a starting price, but I think every wedding is different and therefore so are the needs. Therefore, I’m used to customizing packages to suit each unique couple.

What is a favourite product or service that you offer and why?

Unquestionably the albums! First of all, because I think it is the most beautiful and elegant physical way to have and cherish the photos. To be able to touch them, to have them at hand for those times you want to remember. Do you like collecting art, or design books? Then printing an album is definitely for you. It is piece of art with a unique and exclusive design, in a coffee table format.

Where would you love to travel to for work?

Any destination will always be a dream for me! I´m happy to go anywhere my work takes me! But the country where I would love to travel the most for work is undoubtedly South Korea, and Italian locations, such as Lago di Como and surroundings will always be in the bucket list too!

Who is your dream client?

A dream client is the one who values art and has love for photography and memories. Who trusts me and my work, is sensitive and with that human side. It's the client that wants to connect with me and all of their vendors, and trusts that we will work hard to make their day the best day of their lives.

I can say that currently I'm very fortunate to have couples from all around the world who are already my  dream clients. We still keep in touch with some through social media and if they come back to Barcelona they ask to meet again. Isn't that great?

What is your advice to couples getting married?

First of all, remember that this is probably one of the only days when you will be able to gather and see all your loved ones at the same time and in the same place. So my advice is enjoy no matter what happens, even if there are adversities.

And most importantly, enjoy every second, the day will pass in a blink of an eye! Be yourself at all times, listen to yourself, your tastes, what represents you - and choose the vendors that you like the most, this only happens once in a lifetime!
