Love Among The Ruins

Love Among The Ruins, captured by Martina Boggian, takes cues from the world of Wuthering Heights, capturing the intense and consuming love between Heathcliff and Catherine. The creative team set out to channel that same passion, but with a contemporary twist - raw, instinctive, and far from the typical romantic ideal.

A key source of inspiration for Oltre Studio was the location itself: an abandoned early 19th-century building that instantly sparked their imagination. The cracked walls, empty rooms, and weathered textures created a timeless, melancholic atmosphere that felt alive and integral to the narrative, rather than just a backdrop.

In this rugged and imperfect space, softer elements emerged organically. Layers of tulle, delicate florals Amour de Gitane, handwritten stationery by Poetry Ink Atelier and subtle gestures introduced a fragile contrast to the cold surroundings. At the same time, thorned brambles disrupted that softness, adding an element of tension and reminding us that love is rarely just gentle.

This editorial thrives on contrasts: softness and decay, romance and chaos, intimacy and distance. It avoids the overly polished or traditional bridal aesthetic. Instead, Love Among The Ruins explores a darker, more cinematic view of modern love—one that is emotional, imperfect, and deeply human.
