What would you like couples to know about Extrafloral?

Each design we compose is tailored to our couples. We’ll get to know you, discover what experience you want to share with your guests and advise you on how to make the most impact with your investment.

We want your guests to call you the next morning to tell you how every moment of your wedding felt undeniably "you."

Where are you located?

Brooklyn, NYC.

Do you travel for weddings?

Yes! Crafting a vision that combines the history of a setting and the persona of a couple is my love language.

What is your dream work destination?

Let’s throw a stylish celebration in the heart of a rustic Italian seaside village.

How would you describe your style?

Our designs are sculptural and playful in unconventional palettes. I believe that flowers intrinsically bring joy and each of our arrangements should be the same. Never stuffy or dull, no two of our arrangements are exactly alike, even when using the same recipe of flowers. This creates interest and movement throughout a reception space.

Tell us about your favourite design or installation!

I love the juxtaposition of old and new. Pairing our contemporary arrangements in an unexpected palette with a traditional venue is always a favorite.

What are your favourite flowers to work with?

High on the list are any flowers with textural layers of billowing petals like piled ranunculus and peonies, but the smell and tone of lilac will always have my heart.

Where do you source your flowers?

Most of our flowers come from our partners at the iconic NYC Flower Market or upstate growers. We’ve been in business for over 10 years so these relationships are essential to always procuring the best of the best and to having first dibs on the interesting and new.

Tell us about a career highlight!

I’ve had the honor of creating florals for a few icons over the years however, Björk and Madonna were pinch-me moments.

What is a favourite product or service that you offer and why?

We transform spaces to create a unique experience for each event we work on. Watching our couples’ reactions when they first see a space come together is always the best part of the job.

What inspires you?

With florals, an untended garden or flower sprouting between sidewalk cracks can catch my eye and inspire a new shape or design.

Who is your dream client?

A couple that has a sense of their own style and wants that to resonate through their entire day.

What is your advice to couples getting married?

Finding a florist who you connect with and understands your style is key. Trust your instincts and choose someone whose work resonates with you. Have an idea of what you love but be flexible, embracing a designer’s creativity can lead to truly magical results. If you choose the right creative partner, the outcome of the wedding will be as important to them as it is to you.
