An Italian Reverie

Somewhere Between the Seasons: An Italian Reverie, captured by Nicoletta Subitoni, was envisioned as a moment caught between winter and spring, situated in the multi-layered realm of La Foleia. Inspired by a shared passion for eclectic design, philosophy, and English gardens, the editorial portrays an intimate elopement defined more by ambiance and colour, than by tradition.

Creative Director Follia delle Rose sought a harmony between the romantic and the surreal. Full-bloom spring flowers were arranged in modern compositions by Letizia dei Fiori, while 18th-century inspired floral textiles by Rubelli reflected the surrounding landscape. The colour palette shifted between vibrant and subdued hues, with the bride’s dress by Freya Simonne featuring romantic details, in a striking, bold pink.

Subtle references, such as Xenophon’s Symposium, added depth to the emotional layer of the day, where love was conveyed through presence, attention, and delicate ritual. The outcome was a setting that felt both structured and slightly dreamlike, existing between reality and reverie.
