The year wouldn't be complete with a few styling and art direction highlights from the last 12 months. Here are a just a few images and weddings that you (and we) loved over the course of 2019. We are so pleased to have played a small part in these moments and were able to share these images again, as well as the stories behind them. We are also so grateful to be able to connect with incredible couples and creatives and look forward to doing even more of that in 2020. Thank you to to every bride, couple, designer and vendor who I was lucky enough to work with this year, as well as the wonderful fellow blogs and publications who shared my styling and art direction work. Tricia and Hieu's Melbourne Wedding, photographed by Blossom Daisy Creative
Tricia was one of our accessories styling clients, and had three incredible custom outfits locked in, when she came to The Anti-Bride for some styling advice. She really already had all the answers, but just needed a little confidence in her own style. She pulled this incredible look together at the last minute, with many pieces she already owned - as well as her custom Sant Elia separates. Tricia and Hieu's wedding was featured at Together Journal. To find out more about our styling services, click here.
We had a lot of fun creating this shoot for The Future Mrs. with the girls. These shots were taken only a few weeks before their wedding and they were so much fun work with on the day. I tried to encapsulate their personalities and do something a little different to what they were wearing on their own wedding day. Make sure to check out Hooray Magazine to see more of this relaxed styled shoot.
The girls also won a wedding (um, how incredible is that!), to celebrate same sex weddings being legalised in Australia. This wedding was organised by Nomad Styling and Enchanted Weddings, as well as a number of other incredible Victorian vendors.
Mille was my VIP styling client and had the full shebang. It took a lot of meetings and communication, and trying on a number of shapes and styles until she was able to lock in the dress that was right for her. Jessi was pretty certain with what she wanted and locked everything in - in record time. I think they are both examples of how many brides decide on their outfits. There is no right and wrong and our styling services are very much tailor-made to your individual needs. Our focus is about finding your own style and putting together an outfit that best represents you on your wedding day. The girls fun, bright and relaxed wedding was featured in print in issue 25 of Hello May.
Art Direction and Styling make my heart sing and I loved being able to do both on the Bowie Rae shoot earlier this year. There was a lot of communication with designer Mannie in the lead up to the day to make sure she was 100 percent happy with the direction and it was a very relaxed day because of it. I loved the use of old school film in this shoot and it's always fantastic working with Matt. If you are a designer and are wanting to create images with a strong editorial feel for your next new collection shoot, campaign or look book, we'd love to work with you in 2020. Find out more here.
Modern, Contemporary and Minimal, Styled Shoot (photographed by Matt Godkin)
Styled shoots are a lot of fun, although unfortunately I am not able to take part in as many these days. This shoot is one of my absolute favourites for the year and it's always a great opportunity to work with really talented vendors. This editorial was featured on Magnolia Rouge recently - make sure to see the full feature and credits of the great team involved.
It was an absolute honour to be asked to take part in Rangefinder Magazines One My Radar in January of this year. The image used was from of a previous shoot (and in fact the first shoot I ever created for The Anti-Bride).

Admittedly it feels a strange sharing my own wedding in the highlights for the year. But perhaps my proudest styling moment is the fact my husband got out of his board shorts and into some Jimmy Choo's on our wedding weekend. And he loved them may I add. (The unthinkable.) Thank you to Together Journal and Rock'n'Roll Bride (print) for sharing my favourite day!
