Real Wedding | Danielle + Hayden

Tell us a little about yourselves!

Hayden and I met our junior year of high school after he and his family had moved to Orlando, FL from Huntsville, AL. Before we really even knew each other, our younger sisters became best friends. They always used to joke about setting us up together so they could become sisters. To their surprise, we started dating shortly after graduation and have been together ever since (nearly 9 years!).

Why did you decide to get married where you did?

We chose the Mission Inn Resort for our wedding venue. We knew we wanted a resort style venue, that would offer entertainment for guests planning to stay over the weekend. Plus, this way we were able to plan activities and spend more quality time hanging out with family and friends.

How many guests did you have?

85.

What was your budget?

$30K originally. We definitely did not stay in budget!

Tell us about your outfits.

(Danielle): My older sister and I got engaged a few months apart and long before either of us had decided on a wedding date, we went to try on dresses just for fun. We both ended up finding our dress on the same day at the same place. My sister and I couldn’t be more different from one another, and that definitely showed in our dress choices. It was such a special moment to say yes to the dress together!

(Hayden): I decided I wanted a tux that had an athletic/stretch fabric and I ended up stumbling upon State and Liberty. When I got it in I was astonished how this tux in a box nearly fit like a glove, so much so I accidentally showed Danielle my entire wedding day fit the night it came in. My amazing parents gifted me the Louboutin shoes; thankfully, they have great taste.

What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?

Before jumping into wedding planning, we made a pact not to take anything too seriously, as it can be stressful, if you let it be. We decided to have fun throughout the process and to continuously remind each other of what the day is all about - two people devoting their lives to one another, surrounded by the people they love the most.

Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?

The music that played throughout our wedding was a huge focus for us. I love live music and knew I wanted to somehow incorporate that into night. On the other hand, Hayden loves dancing to throwbacks so having a DJ was also a must. We decided on having violinist Gary Lovini play for the ceremony and cocktail hour and Our DJ Rocks for the reception. We made sure each of them were able to play a variety of music so all of our guests were able to dance and enjoy the entire evening.

Any tips for couples getting married?

Have fun with planning! It is impossible to please everyone. In the end, the day is about celebrating the love you have for each other!

Are there any vendors that you would like to tell us a little more about?

All of our vendors, including Katie Gracen Photography, were amazing!
