Ariadne's Thread | An Italian Editorial

This editorial was inspired by Greek mythology and photographed in Northern Italy, at the picturesque Lake Como. The Italian team of creatives put a modern spin on the ancient myth of Ariadne's Thread and found inspiration in the natural beauty of the region.

"It is said that Ariadne fell in love with Theseus when he arrived in Crete to kill the Minotaur in the labyrinth of Knossos.. Ariadne, betraying her half-brother, gave Theseus a ball of wool so that he could mark the path he had travelled in the labyrinth and then get out easily.

Ariadne then fled with him and the other Athenians to Athens, but Theseus once landed on the island of Naxos departed while Ariadne rested, abandoning her.

Various versions underline the petty behavior of Theseus that seems

inexplicable and this suggests that a part of the original myth has been lost.

In our story we want to imagine a happy ending for the two young lovers - a

gathering meant to last forever."
